  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

New Creationist theory on how life spread out after the flood.

Here are another ten. These are a shorter and perhaps easier to understand.
Snap. Now all you have to do is prove the prophecy was written BEFORE whatever it prophesied.

What? You mean not everyone just BELIEVES the Bible is truth because it says it is? Well cornpops and cheerios.

Even William Lane Craig doesn't rely on prophecies when trying to prove that God exists, because he knows he would get crushed with the response.

If you think you're so clever, why don't you humour me and "crush" me with this supposed response he would receive. I'm looking forward to hearing your undeniable counter arguments.

Right. o.k. Listing two pages full of fulfilled biblical prophecies in no way supports my statement of faith.

The Bible prophesized that we would find evidence of a flood, a young earth, and separately created species. That prophecy failed spectacularly.

Right. o.k. Listing two pages full of fulfilled biblical prophecies in no way supports my statement of faith.

You posted prophecies in response to this statement:

You know how you write about prophecies that came true? You write about historical events as if they were in the future.

Nobody ever questioned your faith, don't start with the persecution complex, we already have AV for that. What was questioned was the veracity of those prophecies. There is no evidence that they were written when you say they were. And even if they were, many of them are so general that they can be used to predict any event, now, in the past or in the future. Not to mention that for every "fulfilled" prophecy, there are at least 10 that are not fulfilled.

Keep chirping away with your clever little jokes if that makes you feel better. Wake me up when you want to discuss the prophecies.

You started with the "clever little jokes", I am just returning the favor. Wake me up when you have non-Biblical evidence of those prophecies, or even evidence that they were written when you claim they were.

That's the point. None of us believe there is any specificity to these "prophecies" and that the only copies we have of them were all written after the fact. Reality can be a cold hearted female dog sometimes.

I spy the fossil record!

But yeah, after 100+ years they are still trying to explain that one away.

And I will pretend you actually studied the fossil record. And what do 10 years have to do with anything?

I meant 100+ years. My keyboard is crapping out on me lately.

Make it 300+. The modern science of geology was founded in the 1700's by people that mostly wanted to find evidence for a global flood. They found none for it, and plenty of evidence against it.

That is not what "God said". That is what is written in your Bible.

Do you understand the difference?

Probably not.

First of all, it is apparent that ur not using God's word since ur negating everything that was said by Him. I'm guessing ur a muslim?

My belief is in what God said, the TRUTH..... I'm not interested in lies.

1 Cor. 2:14 "...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they r foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they r spiritually discerned."

U might think u have a one up on dad, but do u honestly think u can defeat God!!

Do u know that there r NO atheists in hell? Think about it........

Who would ever try to defeat god, if he exists, and why?

You seem to have the mistaken idea that you are worshiping the "right" god.

What is your evidence that your belief is correct?

No, the Bible is not "god talking". Someone was not honest with you. If there was evidence for a god I would believe in it. Find me evidence and you have a convert. Be careful there is a lot of false evidence out there.

There are no Atheists in hell because there is no such place as hell.
Heaven and hell exist only in your mind, you want to go to heaven and you want everyone who does not agree with you punished, it's not going to happen no matter how much you want it to.

Hell is not mentioned in the Bible, I think it's a Catholic thing. There are basically two choices, be resurrected or remain as dust. When the Earth is destroyed with non-believers as dust, the resurrected go to a new Heaven and Earth.

If you are referring to the Bible, then you are referring to the writings of men.

Yes men wrote it, but about the things shown to them by God. For example, it says in the last days, Syria, Damascus, Iran, Israel and Russia will be involved in a conflict. Are things getting warmed up do you think?
Just remember, there will be peace for a short time, but it will break down. Then the Christians will be raptured away, to be protected from what's coming. Oh when it happens, many will change their minds :) This will be the second resurrection.

These are all claims made by men with no evidence to back them up.

If people actually read the bible and study a bit of history, they will discover hundreds of prophecies that have come true. Not obscure prophecies like Nostradamus, but plainly described ones. Do you know any humans who can accurately predict the future, hundreds and even thousands of years ahead?

The word "Hell" might not be mentioned but the lake of fire certainly is. Dust is not an option unfortunately.

Revelation 20:14
The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:8
But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”
