Regarding the "will".. that was in the scripture... when Abraham said "will". Not to be confused with the idea of "again" as you suggested.
Regarding the point about "going back" and begging for forgiveness... I never mentioned going back, but was dealing with unrepented sin... all sin needs to be repented of... or God will be dealing with...
Jeremiah 5:3
O LORD, do not your eyes look for truth? You struck them, but they felt no pain; you crushed them, but they refused correction. They made their faces harder than stone and refused to repent.
Jeremiah 8:6
I have listened attentively, but they do not say what is right. No one repents of his wickedness, saying, "What have I done?" Each pursues his own course like a horse charging into battle.
Ezekiel 18:30
"Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.
Ezekiel 18:32
For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!
It is good to repent of sin.. but even more important to..
Matthew 3:8
Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.
When you said...
my first thought...
Romans 2:4
Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward repentance?
But then reading further and seeing that you were jumping from your part to his part and equated that since it was a one time deal for him it is a one time deal for you.. I understood what you were saying..
Every repentence is a humble step closer to understanding and acknowledging God and turning from sin as the light of the truth shines upon it.. so that you may walk in the path of righteousness... and stumble not... but if you do stumble.. repent...
Revelation 3:19
Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.
You know..
You could just repent of your
entire self and get it over with, right?
Hebrews 6:4-8
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
But you'll only be
willing once you know in your heart, by Grace through faith, that you indeed DIED to sin with Christ on Calvery.
You are then able to
exchange your
dead life for the
Eternal Life of Jesus!
John 17:19
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
John 17:19
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Hebrews 10:10
By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Hebrews 10:14
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
1 Corinthians 1:2-3
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that
are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 2:11-12
For both he that sanctifieth and they who
are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.
OK, as God, by the Scripture says, it is not your job to sancify yourself. Sancification is the work of God by the Holy Spirit through the Person of Christ, and sanctification was already accomplished on your behalf by the offering up of the Body of Jesus Christ, once for all.
As I wrote to you earlier, it is also being accomplished, and will be accomplished in the ages to come, by God.
But the
foundational truth of ALREADY SAVED, ALREADY JUSTIFIED, ALREADY PURE, ALREADY RIGHTEOUS, ALREADY GLORIFIED [in our spirit] is of
uttmost importance in order to
move on in Grace. Otherwise there is
fear of punishment for sins left unrepented of, in which we freeze and are thereby useless to the Kingdom of God, because he who fears has not been perfected in Love! :o
Hebrews 6:1-3
Therefore leaving
the principles of the doctrine of Christ,
let us go on unto perfection;
not laying
again the foundation of repentance from dead works,
and of faith toward God, Of
the doctrine of baptisms,
and of laying on of hands,
and of resurrection of the dead,
and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.
I'd like to interject here because I feel it's important to share my personal experience with you, so that you do not feel I am condemning you in any way;
I do not
cease to lay "the foundation of repentance from dead works,
and of faith toward God" for
as long as I
walk after my flesh, which I still do quite frequently. IN FACT, just this week I contacted a brother in Christ and asked him to pray my faith fails not,
in spite of the fact that Jesus ALREADY prayed for this self-same thing [
AND WAS HEARD] on my behalf. So, once I stopped and listened to the Holy Spirit, I simply 'THANKED GOD' that He did it
all and MOVED ON to Glory in Christ. He expects nothing of me, except ME, that's all Love
ever wants
2 Corinthians 3:5-18
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but
the spirit giveth life.
But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which
glory was to be
done away: How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
For if the ministration of condemnation be glory,
much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
For even that which was made glorious had
no glory in this respect,
by reason of the glory that excelleth.
For if that which is
done away was glorious,
much more that which remaineth is glorious.
Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of
that which is abolished: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament;
which vail is done away in Christ.
But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless
when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image
from glory to glory, even as
by the Spirit of the Lord.
Acts 20:32
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
P.S
The Ministry of the Holy Spirit, in a born again believer, is not for tearing down [the characters of persons], but for building us up in the Most Holy faith;
