But what if "gold" is harder to remember than "aurum"?
Last time I checked, your first language was English -_-

Spy!
LOL
You guys couldn't handle Waldo and arced and sparked about it; so I make a new thread with Yigo; and what do you do?
You bring up Big Foot!
Solid aurum!![]()
So you concede that belief in something in no way determines outcome, if solid methods of data collection are used, then.
Just makin' a point.
My OP is not an open-book test.
It's two men being tested in a room with a map in front of each one.
Google isn't allowed.
Just their eyes perusing a map.
We'll, believing that a place exists doesn't mean you know where to look. Equal chance of finding it.
So, you admit you have no idea how probability works, other than what you think they think? Got it.I disagree.
Oh, don't get me wrong.
The unbeliever might find it before the believer does; but I'm talking about "on average."
The unbeliever might be thinking what a waste of time he's having, while the believer might be unwilling to quit until he finds it.
Unbeliever [to himself]: "I wonder what's for supper tonight?"
Believer [to himself]: "I know it's here somewhere, it's gotta be!"
I disagree.

If you gave both a task and a map for finding it, and neither knew where to look, the probability of one or the other finding it first would be no different.
So if I gave you a Chess position and told you to find a mate-in-three, you would roll your eyes at me and whine something about a false dichotomy?
I disagree.
(Unless you Arab-phoned "apt" to "probability" to sterilize my point. [I just now caught that. Good job, guys. You almost got away with it.])

All I'm asking is:You assume that because people don't believe in something means that they haven't looked hard for it or won't, as well as assuming that lack of belief comes before the fruitless search.
All I'm asking is:
Who is more apt to find Yigo?
The one who puts more effort into looking.
