Hello all,
I have done something foolish that may have serious repercussions on myself, my job and my family (wife and 2 boys). I know what I did was wrong and it is not a secret from my wife. I wish I could go back and change my actions, but I can't (no, I was not unfaithful to my wife). I know that God allows us to deal with the consequences of our actions, but these consequences would be devastating. I pray for mercy, for grace, for forgiveness, and for this to smooth over without incident while I seek counseling and guidance. Thank you for your prayer and hopefully for your lack of judgement.

God have mercy on us all, Josh. Thank God for his chastening. But yeah, it is still going to hurt.

I don't know if you've ever run into the fear of God inspired by knowing a little of what we deserve, and finding our infinitely just God relenting from imposing on us what we well know we deserve: because we thought to be 'dealt with' and he, the burning power of purity, instead treats us tenderly. Brother, that treatment is soul-ripping fear of God, cleansing. Do not take it for granted, if indeed he relents. Do not dare return to the mire.

Hi Josh, first off, since I noticed that you are a brand new member, WELCOME TO CF

As far as what you are facing goes, have you talked to your pastor about it yet (for his counsel and help, as well so that he will know how to pray for you, specifically)? I only ask because that would be the first thing that I would do.

Praying for you!

God bless you!! (Isaiah 40:31, 41:10, 42:2)

Was it worse than Moses killing an Egyptian? Was it worse than David committing adultery and indirectly killing the women's husband? Was it worse than Peter denying Jesus?
God forgives. That is the main and most important. Start there. He is faithful and just to forgive our trespasses and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Move on from there. Sometimes you have to endure what comes. Not always pleasant. I have been through a similar event.
It gets better. Don't give up. Don't quit.

And its so nice when he allows our own self recrimination to be our judgment. A giving and loving God. I pray this for you. I have been there, his mercy is such a blessing!
God bless you Josh:)

Don't lose heart, brother. The Lord only intends to better fit you for service in the Kingdom of His beloved Son.
Malachi 3:2-3
Who can endure the day of His coming?
And who can stand when He appears?
For He is like a refiner’s fire and like launderers’ soap.
He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver.
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord an offering in righteousness.

We ask for mercy, Lord Jesus. A lesson has been learned and we ask that you limit the consequences so that the innocent do not suffer. Thank you for your promise that you work all things together for the good of those who love you and are called according to your purpose.
