For example, I'm thinking of a number right now between one and ten ... what is it?

You don't know it, but I do, and only I can enlighten my audience as to what it is: (seven).
The scary thing is, I thought it was seven immediately.
Seven is the number of completion in the Scriptures, and it just fit.

No. The word is hā·rā·qî·a‘ from raqa,
No ... actually the word is "firmament."

1 Corinthians 14:19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

To you, age is a product of the aging process -- nothing more.

But God can take this noun (age), and insert it into His creation.

And have it mean nothing.

God can make something last Thursday, declare it's 4.5 billion years old, and *POOF* it is so.

By extension, God can create something last Thursday, YOU can declare that He declared it is 4.5 billion years old, and *POOF* it is so.

Magical thinking at its finest.

And have it mean nothing.
From Adam Clarke's Commentary:
It appears that God created every thing, not only perfect as it respects its nature, but also in a state of maturity, so that every vegetable production appeared at once in full growth; and this was necessary that man, when he came into being, might find every thing ready for his use.

From Adam Clarke's Commentary:

You failed to notice that even Clark specifies "maturity," not age.

Or maybe you did notice, and hoped that nobody else would.

So Adam Clark can take a hike -- he can't help you here.

As do I.

It is maturity without history.

Mr. Clarke didn't name it -- I did.

If you have a better term than "embedded age," I'm all ears.

From Split Rock's NEW APPLE CHALLENGE thread:
Until you come up with something better, I'll just stick with what I got.

So it's still as meaningless as it was before, and invoking Clarke was nothing but a smokescreen.

Fiction.

Uh-huh.

Until you can do better than that, I'll stick with: embedded age.

hey, you asked.

Until you realize that age is a measure of history, not maturity, you'll never find a more useful term.

Really?

Why does the online dictionary have five definitions?

You want me to go with your one definition?

I'll pass.

I've found a useful term -- you haven't.

You found a useful term for a useless phenomenon.
What are you expecting to use this phenomenon for?

Does everything have to have a use today?

It served its use.

You certainly cannot harness the power it ran on (Shekinah energy).

So what's your point?

Nothing -- I just think it's important to expose doubletalk for what it is, lest someone besides yourself gets the mistaken impression that you're talking theology.
