HINT: It's not a contradiction. It's just different people at different times explaining the world based on their guesses.

How would anyone KNOW which of those is accurate until after they die?

And even then, has anyone come back to verify these findings?

Oh that one's easy! There was no global Noachian flood! Or more accurately there is no reason to believe there was ever a Global Noachian Flood!

I created a map to show what the planet would look like with all the water added to the ocean...including the water inside every human body.

Still not enough to flood the planet.

I would agree, comfort is the key term here.

NOW SEE! I totally agree with that sentiment! That's exactly what any religion should do.

It should provide a believer with comfort. If it does that then it has achieved exactly what it should do.

But did you not challenge people NOT in your religion to explain the disjunct in God's "nature" as outlined in the Bible?

Outside of the religion it's a really simple matter of deciding the dilemma. There isn't one!

But you asked people outside of your faith to explain the "challenge".

My OP can be reconciled with basic doctrine; yours can't.

From pov there isn´t even a need to reconcile them.

If your doctrine requires a need to reconcile them and offers a way to reconcile it this way, go ahead and post it. It´s your doctrine, after all - not that of the the people you meant to challenge.

Two different images of God. One being a God of War, which was the norm back in the day. And the other being a God of Love, which is more of a Heart centered image of God. As such they do not reconcile.

Context you say.
From my perspective, genocide can only be reconciled with Evil. Period!

I've been to war with killing, and a lot of healing required with time.
Genocide, especially that spelled out in the Bible is a whole different game.

I don't know how to be any more clear than that.
So what context am I missing?
