The actual way to look at this is a thread which is mostly you blindly citing deluded people, even the obvious liar in the OP (read Ezekiel 37).
Fantasies about NDE being caused by "extreme gravity" from an deluded Dr. James Winnery. This chemistry professor has the stupidity of a web page with no actual evidence or data.

Credible NDE's mostly happen when people are near death in normal gravity. People undergoing extreme acceleration are not near death. They become unconscious because of the g-forces. It is called gravitationally-induced loss of consciousness ! The physical symptoms include tunnel vision and sometimes brief, vivid dreams afterwards.

And sometimes they become happier, more content with life and seem to have a decreased fear of death afterwards as well.........

Christian Andreason's Near-Death Experience
h. Who goes to heaven?

In the end ... believe it or not (sigh of relief), everyone gets to come home! Heaven is a place of ultimate LOVE. When we have learned how to become individuals that base our entire existence and consciousness around manifesting LOVE, we then become capable of entering the domain of the higher Realms of Heaven. If we do not practice Love, we can only go so far and we will be made to incarnate somewhere out there in God's super Universe again and again (unlimited times) until we learn

Jhn 16:25

These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

Not to mention......
Abysmally irrelevant to your friend's lie and fantasaies and the irrelevant NDE hallucinations you have been posting, DennisTate. This is an irrelevant article in a Portuguese journal about Teilhard de Chardin. No actual cosmology. No NDE. Unsupported, outdated thoughts on complexity and consciousness.

Some people get happier....... others may go off into sheer terror and paranoia.

Dr. Maurice Rawling's wondered why so many of his cardiac arrest patients could not remember a near death experience........ so he hypnotized them and took them back to the time of their brush with death....... .and they did have an out of the body experience but it terrified them....... and they had blocked it from their memory.

For the record.... time was invented.... and one seventh of time as we know it was invented for mankind in the form of the Sabbath...... the other six sevenths of time was also invented FOR MANKIND....so the impression that these people got during those few moments I believe...... was not the full picture.........

I believe that the longer term view turns out more like:

Christian Andreason's Near-Death Experience

Some older ideas tend to come back after a few centuries when we are ready for them.

Only some variation on Theism sets the stage for INFINITE VALUE being placed on human life........ Dogmatic Atheism tends to place value only on silver or gold or oil..... and the crisis in the Derivatives market that humanity faces makes it necessary for us to rethink our valuation that we are placing on our lives... .and the lives of our kids and grandchildren.

An idiotic video from a cardiologist who hypnotized patients to get them to "remember" NDE in order to support his personal agenda.
What We Know About Near Death Experiences: "Reviews of Rawling’s work revealed distortions in his reporting of the data and his conclusions. It appears that the primary goal of his research was to convert people to Christianity so they would not go to Hell."
The problems of using hypnosis to attempt recover possibly repressed memories are very well documented, e.g. false accusations of sexual abuse.

Eventually...... you are probably correct.... that became his goal...... but at first he was quite skeptical of all ideas like this until some of his patients got him curious through what they told him about what they remembered.

Still irrelevant to your friend's lie and fantasies, DennisTate, and usual NDE fantasies:
Your friend was at least misleading and seems deluded about Ezekiel 37 ("a vision of the resurrection of dry bones").
  1. The hallucinations and invalid theology of a Dr. George Ritchie.
  2. Lynnclaire Dennis coming back from a NDE with complete gibberish about light, time and space does not explain anything and is more a sign of brain damage
  3. William Joseph Bray's crank idiocy of "quantum" magic and NDE.
  4. More hallucinations, this time from the deluded Howard Storm.
  5. Fantasies from a Christian Andreason who does not give any credible evidence of a NDE.
  6. Fantasies about NDE being caused by "extreme gravity" from an deluded Dr. James Winnery.
  7. An irrelevant article in a Portuguese journal about Teilhard de Chardin. No actual cosmology. No NDE.
  8. An idiotic video from a cardiologist who hypnotized patients to get them to "remember" NDE in order to support his personal agenda.
  9. A video about the Catholic Purgatory from which no one returns, so there is none of his irrelevant to this thread NDE . Also purgatory si not an "altered states of consciousness".
  10. Parrots Dean Braxton's idiocy of "flatlining for one hour and forty five minutes" and his NDE hallucinations ! A YouTube video with no documentation. Google 'dean braxton document flatline' and no evidence of any actual documentation anywhere. If Dean Braxton had documents, he would make them easily available but all we have is what he says.
People do not recover from such a long period of their heart flatlining unless they are on heart bypass. So he was not near to death! His brain was alive and well.

Actually the documentation on the Dean Braxton case is pretty impressive.

That's an article based on a transcript of a TV interview on a Christian media evangelism channel... purely anecdotal, with an obvious bias and agenda.

But on the plus side they researched his case for five years before doing that film.

One of the interactions between Dean Braxton and Messiah Yeshua - Jesus involved Dean thinking that certain types of people could not be in heaven...... He reports being rebuked with the statement "WHO ARE YOU TO ANNUL WHAT I HAVE DONE!"

Something like that where Dean reports being rebuked seem to me like something that would be difficult to make up.

Seriously? It sounds like something out of hack made-for-tv biblical epic... except they would probably have gone with, "WHO ART THOU..." instead of "WHO ARE YOU..."

But Dean Braxton seemed to have been genuinely surprised at the time which makes his account even more interesting in my opinion.
