  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

aww! Dumb and Dumber was sooo funny! I couldn't stop laughing! There are a lot worse comedies then that. The prequel had one really funny part that left me gasping for breath, but the rest of the movie was just alright.

It's amazing how the first one is one of the most quality comedies of this generation, and the prequel is one of the worst.

Robert Brener, the guy who wrote the script to the prequel, should never have a job in Hollywood again. The script to this flick was the first one that he ever had produced, so it was a huge mistake to pick his screenplay up in the first place by the studio. They never should have went with someone brand new to the game to do a sequel to a film like Dumb and Dumber.

I haven't heard anything about Robert selling any more of his "work", so if we're lucky the abomination that was When Harry Met Loyd will be his last, heh.

I know, that's harsh. He may improve as the years go on, but he should NOT write another major film such as the one that he did, until he can prove himself as a competent writer.

The horror movie DARKNESS FALLS.

I agree with that one as well. It's my least favorite horror film in recent years. The film started off pretty good, but after that first scene it went downhill, and it went downhill fast. They should have allowed the film to progress instead of doing such a huge leap in forward in time.

It was a cliched filled, full of holes, stupid, worthless piece of trash. The concept has potential, but they did the least with it that they possibly could've.

The only movie I can think of that I hated everything about was The Fast and the Furious. There are a few that certain parts ruined the whole movie for me, such as Identity, The Ring, and Pirates of the Carribean. There are plenty of other movies that I just don't like.

Oh yeah! There's this chick flick called Under the Tuscan Sun that I didn't like anything about. The movie totally glorified homosexuality, casual sex with a total stranger, and making ridiculously foolish decisions.

The only movie I've ever walked out of was castaway...it was just like here's a guy on a beach....here's a guy on a beach with a bit of a beard...here's a guy on a beach with a bit more beard. I just didn't get it.
LOL..I liked this movie! But your comment was funny!

I have strange taste in movies. For one, I don't like violent movies, they really disturb me, I find them pointless and boring.
I also don't like:
Star Wars (don't flame me please!!!)
The American Pie trilogy
Driven (some racecar movie I fell asleep at)
Queen of the ****** (edited: sorry I didn't realize this was a bad word. anyway, it was a movie about vampires, based on a book by Anne Rice)
Club Dread
The Matrix Sequel (I can't remember what it was called! actually I wasn't too keen on the first Matrix movie either, because of all the shooting. I thought the idea behind the movie was cool though).

It's cool if you didn't like it, everyone has an opinion. But you can't just say that it's a bad quality film, because it wasn't. Contrary to what some say, there are some things out there that are just good or just poor, regardless of what someone else thinks of them.

Does any of this make sense to you?

A movie like Freddy Got Fingered, that is just a plain and simple "bad made film".

It's like this with all arts, some things are just of good quality, even if you don't like it. :D
Except... I can... because like you said, we ALL have opinions and they aren't all the same. :) I'm sorry it bothers you that I dislike it but that doesn't change what I think of it. And yes, it does make sense and yes, I think it is a HORRIBLE quality film... again... sorry.

You don't understand what I mean. Some things simply are not subjective (is that the word I'm looking for?). There are things in this form of art which are quality, period. It's great to dislike a film, to hate one, but it's another to flat out say that something is bad quality, when it simply isn't.

Don't be sorry, you just don't get where I'm coming from and why I say this. It may have something to do with my being a screenwriter, and really looking into all film.

How about an anology otnemeMMemto.

Someone might not like Picassio, but inspite of that it can't be denied that he was a talented painter and put out quality pieces. He was although I personally wouldn't put one of his pieces on my wall (well, maybe to show I could afford it, but not because I liked it)

Stand out bad films for me:

Titanic. I didn't, and still don't, get the fuss.
Charlies Angels 2. My mum made me watch it. I want my 2 hours back.

I don't really agree. When it comes to art, I would say there is probably no objective standard. I tend to think it's all completely subjective.

No, YOU don't understand... the fact of the matter is... I think it's AWFUL quality... but regardless of how anyone feels, it's all just opinions and quite frankly I'm tired of you telling me that mine doesn't count... I'm glad you think the movie is great but we don't ALL have to agree w/ you, ok? It doesn't mean we 'don't get it' because we aren't screenwriters, it means we have a difference of opinion and no matter how many times you say I don't 'get' it (which by the way, sounds more like you're saying I'm not intelligent enough to be on your level), it's not going to change what I think... so pls stop trying to convince me.

Just one other thing... this is supposed to be a thread about movies we dislike, not a thread to tell other ppl why they shouldn't dislike films. Someone mentioned they disliked my most favorite movie in the world in this thread but I'm not all over them telling them why they SHOULDN'T feel that way... it's just a movie.

It would be just a "bad" movie -- assuming that you're willing to take a plot which suggests that German teenagers who like American swing music could overthrow the German Nazi regime -- but "Swing Kids" goes into transcendental badness in the last five minutes when the teenage Nazi sympathizer who has been hassling the "Swing Kids" undergoes a conversion (of sorts), joins the side of the "Swing Kids", and is taken off to a concentration camp by the Nazis.

His final words, which he yells back to the "Swing Kids", and which close the movie: "Swing Heil! Swing Heil!"

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
