You are being very disrespectful. "Unusual" just means outside your particular normal. So then WHO made up all the secret rituals and unusual beliefs??
You do realize that both the CoC and LDS church are non-identical to the churches in the 1800's and have changed practices since then? (As have all other churches)I am asking a substantive question. If these. rituals and beliefs not traced to Joseph Smith by the Community of Christ are not shared by them, then how did the Brighamist church acquire them?
Temple rituals were initially implemented in the Navuoo era, before majority of the people left for Utah. Can you explain please an answer to my question?? If only LDS have secret temple prsctices resembling the Masons, wheew did they acquire them if not from the "Seer" Joseph Smith???
Brigham Young Sidney Rigdon? James Strang? Emma or son Joseph Smith??
There a number of things from the Navuoo time period CoC never accepted officially (since their official organization). Many of these things were denied even happening for years, and there are many who think JS fell during this time. Then why do the Community of Christ not accept them??
That doesn't make a lot of sense. Continuing revelation was a key belief in Joseph Smith's time and continues to be so for both LDS and CoC.The issue isn't one or another period, but rather whether these beliefs and activities are authentically tracecto Joseph Smith or are later innovations.
I'm trying to figure out how to best say this respectfully.... You seem to be approaching this with the idea that "X believe God spoke to JS and then God forever shut up. And we loyal followers are simply to believe based on JS word and that it".In that case you are saying that Mormonism does not have to be tied necessarily to Joseph Smith and his claims.
That would be as realistic as saying "the Bible ain't authentic. This whole NT thing didn't happen.". Not going to happen.I wish you would address the substance of my questions rather than just dance around the edges. You claim progressive revelation, and I ask about a revelation that the book of Mormon and Joseph Smith were not authentic.
I've gotten a whole variety of responses to that question from CoC folks. They're a very diverse bunch.Do CoC members say that the LDS secret practices and beliefs are not from Joseph Smith are false?
CoC has other matters of contention of belief/practice that have their focus in years past.So there is no uniform position of their historic leadership about these matters which are a matter of contention?
If you want to know the official position of the CoC go to https://www.cofchrist.org/ Why ask some who does not belong? So you don't know their official position. Maybe someone else does....
