Yes Jim Crow was systemic racism but to think all systemic racism ended when Jim Crow ended is a very myopic view of systemic racism. Redlining came after Jim Crow and that alone accounts for a lot of disparity between racial groups. So would you not consider the systemic exclusion of black people from the opportunity to own homes in nicer neighborhoods systemic racism? If not then what was that?

This is the problem with liberals today. They don't really have anything but the past to point at. "Was" is always the operative word for you. It was bad during Jim Crow. Redlining was bad. Was was was. Not anymore.

Today and for the last 40 years or so, systemic racism has gone away. There isn't any.

Racism has NOT disappeared. No. But systemic racism has. Blacks CAN do anything they want to do. Blacks CAN live anywhere they want. Blacks CAN shop anywhere they want, buy anything they want, go to any school they want.

And if they wouldn't commit 50% of the violent crime we wouldn't see soany of them in jail.

Most people work for their home. You haven't given me true examples of modern systemic racism. You complain because blacks have to work for their homes but thats the way its done by mostly everyone. Whites work for their homes too. So where is the racism?

Redlining had nothing to do with "working for your home".

Definition of redlining:
Redlining is the discriminatory practice of denying services (typically financial) to residents of certain areas based on their race or ethnicity.

Black people were denied loans and were denied the ability to buy houses in desirable areas. Entire neighborhoods had charters that explicitly stated that homes could not be sold to black people in them.

This example of systemic racism aside, what exactly do you want to see?

Actually, the question is what do you want to see?

The problem today, though, is not systemic racism, but a continuing holdover from past racism. The ways to correct that are not to correct "racism" but to correct issues such as employment, education,

For example, it was a peculiar kind of blindness demonstrated when people asked Sanders, "What are you going to do for black people?" Sanders answered, "Free college educations and Medicare for all" and black people didn't get it.

For many of the interlaced issues I would agree.

It's possible to create systems to catch biased individuals, but that's not done by presuming systemic bias.

How would it be done then?

I was referring to inherited wealth such as homes..Maybe I'm wrong but I thought you mentioned that

Shops and schools are determined by neighborhood wealth and that was set by redlining as you state around 40 years ago. That's not that long ago.

And if they wouldn't commit 50% of the violent crime we wouldn't see soany of them in jail.

Are you implying that blacks commit violent crime because they are black?

Suppose a cop believed that and decides to stop and frisk more black people and even goes as far to plant evidence on people he believes are guilty but don't have anything on them at the time. Would that not contribute to that supposed stat and be a bit self perpetuating?

That WAS 40 years ago. 40 years ago is not today.

And you know why shops struggle in those neighborhoods? Crime.

Don't be silly.

And where's your evidence that these 50% was because police planted this evidence on them?

I want to see people use the freedom they have been given instead of complaining. There are millions of immigrants who would love to have our citizenship. We should be happy

Racist people do exist though and people uphold and execute our systems.

That doesn't mean the racism is systemic. It means there are individuals that are racist. Is the medical profession a racist system cause there are racist doctors?

There are fewer racist doctors than racist cops because of both the nature of the job and the oversight required. That being said there is systemic racism in healthcare that causes disparities in health outcomes.

the law prevents them from discriminating. Discrimination is frowned upon by most of the nation. I don't see it as the threat you make it out to be.

How would that be determined?

When it can be sincerely stated that a rich white man and a poor black man were both treated fairly.

Actually, I was asking what specific measures do you think would solve any particular problem?

Better oversight and transparency in policies mostly.

Police don't care about the laws they aren't held to, heck how often have you seen police speed or blow through a stop sign?

Why when we talk about discrimination is it always white people we are criticizing?

Criticizing systems isn't criticizing white people

Cant.other races discriminate too?

Sure but most racism is based on bias and stereotypes and that hurts blacks more than other groups.
