Faith without works is a dead faith.I think Romans 13:9 is in line that Jesus is not a license to continue to sin unlike the sabbath ordinance. or religious celebrations. Morality issues vs religious ordinances in regard to celebrations and scarifies.
Its clear to me Paul saw all the law as law as I do. And considered the law in judgments made.
Just if you asked me in light of Christ is the death penalty lawful for capital murder.
I would answer by the governing authorities "yes" on the testimony of two or more witnesses. Personal revenge "no".
I am considering the law in my judgment.
Is it mandatory for our nation. I would answer "no"
Does the penalty of a crime cause a trial to be unfair. I would answer "no"
So I see the law as law.
Needless to state if you preach sanctification is through faith in Jesus not works of the law you are teaching the correct gospel message.
Matthew 5:19
Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
