I love to amuse myself with the spin that the Democratic party politicians and talking heads in the media are putting out about Mayorkas.

Like what? That there is no crime, much less evidence of a crime?

Since the impeachment process is political in nature, some (apparently) surmise that the “charges” can be political too, even though the Constitution sez “high crimes and misdemeanors“.

Johnson informs Schumer he will send Mayorkas impeachment articles to Senate on April 10; managers named

Schumer’s office responded to the letter saying senators will be sworn in as jurors on April 11.

Schumer said last month that Senate President Pro Tempore Patty Murray will preside over the proceedings.

Johnson signed the letter with the House Republicans he selected as his impeachment managers, which include House Homeland Security Chair Mark Green of Tennessee and Reps. Michael McCaul of Texas, Andy Biggs of Arizona, Clay Higgins of Louisiana, Ben Cline of Virginia, Michael Guest of Mississippi, Andrew Garbarino of New York, Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgie, August Pfluger of Texas, Harriet Hageman of Wyoming and Laurel Lee of Florida.

Johnson delays Mayorkas impeachment trial until next week

Conservative senators, concerned about holding votes on a busy day when the upper chamber is scheduled to leave for the week, lobbied House Speaker Mike Johnson to move the trial​

Now, the articles are likely to be transmitted on Monday, prompting the Senate to start a trial on Tuesday.
