You guys keep making this claim that the Senate bill would worsen things, but give no details. But it doesn't matter anyway, Sec. Mayorkas doesn't have any official role in legislation and the "charged conduct" all occurred before this bill was even fully written.
I just provided a couple of details I object to, and it was kept secret by the Democrats until just days ago. It was written with the idea not to force the president to close the border. But rather pointless because Joe is not obeying the laws on the books. All he has to do is reverse his edicts from the first hundred days to vastly improve the crisis.

Since you seem to think this post "pre-answered" my question, I will address it first...
The bill normalizes 5000 illegal illegals a day,
It does not. (This is a lie someone has told you.) 5000/day for a week triggers a closure of the asylum system. Currently there is no such limit or authorization to suspend any part of asylum.
and even if the limits are exceeded it allows the president to suspend closing the border for 45 days.
So? The intent is to deal with temporary surges. If they wanted to completely terminate asylum they would have written *that* into the law. (It also would have had no chance of passing the Senate.)
And plenty of money goes to left wing causes.
What are these "left wing causes". It's a pretty harsh border security bill and the left wing of the Democratic party is *not* behind it.
Dead on arrival in the House, and the authors certainly knew that.
The DOA statement was only made when the bill was fully negotiated and released by someone who refused an offer to participate in the negotiations. Very bad faith on the part of "Speaker (for now) Mike".

It was not kept secret "by the Democrats" until sunday. It was still being negotiated and it was kept secret by all of the negotiators.

OK, sure.

It was coming though. The House Judiciary Committee had voted out articles of impeachment on Nixon and the full House would have gotten to them (and passed them) soon.
Yes, I gather. He didn't do the honorable thing, he knew he didn't have the support of his party.

Three Republicans — Colorado Rep. Ken Buck, Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher and California Rep. Tom McClintock — joined the Democrats in voting against the resolution to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Wisconsin Rep. Gallagher will not seek reelection

A day [after his vote against the impeachment], a GOP consultant, Alex Bruesewitz, who is aligned with former President Trump, weighed running against Gallagher for Wisconsin’s 8thDistrict. A source confirmed to The Hill that Bruesewitz had “a ton” of interest from members of Congress and the “Trump orbit” about challenging Gallagher after he voted against the Mayorkas impeachment.

Jeh Johnson was in charge of Homeland Security during the Obama administration and stated that 1000 immigrants a day would overwhelm the system. Legalizing 5000 illegals per day and then not forcing Joe to close the border (he has a temporary opt out in the bill) is pretty much saying let's try and legalize an invasion. That's why they hid it for so long and voted quickly before the American people could read the bill. More dishonesty from the senators involved.

It didn't legalize 5000 anything per day. The 5000/day was a threshold for triggering harsher enforcement.
That section of the bill is dead.
They didn't "hide" the bill.
The bill is not relevant to this thread.

The bill would codify 5000 into law. The Mayorkas impeachment is about the number of immigrants being let into the country and allowing trafficked women and children, criminals, and terrorists into our country.

The Republicans beholden to Donald Trump in Congress have no interest in solving illegall immigration. That was made abundantly clear one week ago today when many Senators suddenly were against a bill after their great leader ordered them to stop legislating any measure that might possibly benefit the current administration - politically.

Trum would have us believe that on January 21, 2025, all the worlds asylum seekers will magically stop floading our border because he is President and our immigration system will be meneded with a few illegal executive orders.

As the threshold for triggering a "shutdown". It is not the legalization of 5000, or any other such thing. (And it is dead for now, so the limit is Inifinity migrants.)

...a week after the Speaker announced his opposition to a Senate bill that included 20 Billion dollars for border security and changes to the asylum process....

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) preemptively rejected the Senate’s $95 billion national security package to aid Israel, Ukraine and other U.S. allies, saying in a statement that the package’s failure to address U.S. border security makes it a nonstarter in the House.

“In the absence of having received any single border policy change from the Senate, the House will have to continue to work its own will on these important matters,” Johnson said in a statement. “America deserves better than the Senate’s status quo.”

The whole purpose of the bill was to get some bill passed (Chuck Shumer knew this bill, which would make the disaster worse, had zero chance of passing the House) could give Democrats running for re-election some talking point--to try and blame their own purposeful disaster on Trump and "extreme MAGAs." They throw up their hands and say we really wanted to solve the problem but it was the fault of those darn Trump fanatics.
The GOP could have introduced their own bill.

There are children being trafficked and dying every day because of Joe's border policies. He refuses to roll back his horrific policies.
There are no such policies.
For three years the Biden administration lied to the American public, claiming the border was safe, secure, and closed.
The GOP has been telling us for years that Trump built the wall and Mexico paid for it. Is that not true?

There are such policies, during the Trump administration they did DNA tests on the children accompanied by adults. About 30% of the kids were not related to the adults. The Biden administration does not want to know, the trafficked kids would just be a distraction, so they let kids in without DNA testing. That's got to be a big plus for the cartels and they don't need to bother avoiding checkpoints. As to your second point, when was the last time the GOP told you that? I know some argued that Mexico diverting all of those troops to help with the border was not "paying" for the wall since it was not cash. But that in no way excuses Mayorkas and Biden and the major media from lying to the American people about a horrific border crisis, hiding the trafficking of woman and children and the role the U.S. government played in helping the cartels.

know, but I was amused by the precious use of the term "traffic" with its overtones of pedophilia and sexual slavery. One has to admire clever sophistry like that.
This is a go to strategy for some folks. Anything that is disagreed with become a hot bed of paedophillia. Could be this situation, drag queens, trans folks, political rivals and so on and so forth.

All the while majestically ignoring actual hotbeds of paedophillia and sexual abuse in national institutions.

The Biden administration lied to the American people for three years. They covered up the truth and they cost a lot of people their lives. Enough have suffered, enough have died. The arrogance of them--they now want to put three years policy of wrongdoing into federal law.
So no evidence of your claims, just more claims? Why not start a new thread for these new claims that are absolutely as true as the previous claims?

It’s claims all the way down.

The volume of testimony of immigrants to our border agents along with the government admitted numbers crossing our borders is overwhelming evidence of the disaster. Public hearings have been held. The Biden administration that had stated the border was safe, secure, and closed now admits there is a border crisis.

Which bit was the evidence?

Although it does seem to imply that America’s hunger for fentanyl and kids to abuse is the driving force of immigration.

With all of it’s guns, drugs and child abuse it has to be people trafficking that bring victims into America’s ever hungry maw.

Lisa Desjardin reporting that "House is beginning the vote series that we expect will end in a do-over of the vote on impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas."

Three Republicans — Colorado Rep. Ken Buck, Wisconsin Rep. Mike Gallagher and California Rep. Tom McClintock — joined the Democrats in voting against the resolution to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

They did so again today, but Mayorkas was impeached.

The House has voted to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas by a vote of 214 to 213.

We may well see that. Apparently they will try again when Steve Scalise is back from medical treatment, which may be enough to push it through.
Scalise was back.
