Matthew Chapter 9

1 So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city.

Jesus and his disciples just departed leaving behind that land they were just out because of healing a demon-possessed man who was made right by the Lord, and all the villagers has probably just lost of their food supply after about a heard of 2,000 pigs just went off into a cliff dive and drowned.

He is now getting into a boat, crossing over and going towards Jesus Christ "Hometown".

2 Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.”

Then behold, they (meaning the disciples/crowd of people) brough to Him a paralytic lying on a bed.

This man was sick laying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic. This man could have not believed Jesus Christ what so ever, but hearing the truth in Yeshua unto this man laying on the bed, the man trusted in, and got up and walked.

Yeshua said : Son be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you.

3 And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, “This Man blasphemes!”

Once Jesus Christ had said this phrase, some of the scribes said within themselves, 'this man blasphemes. - Jesus Christ could read the hearts of men.

It said - at once some of the scribes within themselves - "This Man Blasphemes!"

Notice their with-in the focus on their selves and not listening to the Lord Jesus words in which he is fixing to heal the paralytic - in expressing the love towards the man by saying You are forgiven.

4 But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, “Why do you think evil in your hearts?

But Jesus - Knowing their thoughts - said "Why do you think evil in your hearts?

Jesus Christ knew that they did not like Him, and they wanted to kill Him, Jesus Christ just did not know when yet, and he is putting to the test right now, with these scribes, by telling them He knows exactly what they are thinking which was evil in their hearts.

Sometimes it is good to check our own heart, and see if it is in step by what God has spoken (which can be read in the bible), and has made available to us by the Holy Spirit.

5 For which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’?

Jesus Christ then explained by asking a question ; "For which is easier to say ' your sins are forgiven you, or to say 'Arise and Walk'?

6 But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins”—then He said to the paralytic, “Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.”

Jesus Christ is still going after asking the question ; But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins" --

Jesus Christ is demonstrating to us, how by his spirit in us, we too can forgive because we all have faults, and things that are wrong with us all as human beings. There is always something messed up with us, while we are walking with God in our lives.

All people are at various different knowledge skills, (even more deeper things than this) and also measures of faith on how much they do really trust God in his promises of never leaving, or forsaking you, asking us to pray for all people even kings and rules, and to be joyful, in even longsuffering affairs that will always be never-ending until the end.

To have Faith - Love for God -> Love for others.

7 And he arose and departed to his house.

8 Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

And now when the multitudes saw it.

They marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to men. - To forgive sins, and to have a relationship with God -> Though many at this time thought none of it was true, and that Jesus Christ was a liar.

Notice how the paralytic doesn't ask or say anything during the transaction of the scribes and Jesus. Notice how the paralytic doesn't ask Jesus anything. He just did was was asked, arise and walk, while simultaneously expressing forgiveness of sins to this man.

The Jews at this time would have looked a the paralytic man and scoffed at him, for even thing someone like him could ever be saved - The Jewish nation at this time in Nazareth where all this happens at, the church was corrupted, and Jesus Christ was coming to restore everything back to the way it was like in the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve both had access to the Father - who created them.

God needed to fix the problem of sin and the only option was to send His Word into the world, and be able to preach an coming kingdom that is of Heaven which lives inside of believers now today, because believers are a partaker, they have been brought into the inheritance of the kingdom of the Son. (Colossians 1:13)
