~ I am not so full of pride and arrogance that I would not drive a Bentley! I would point to my Father the Provider and brag about how wonderful He was to provide me with such.
~ Christian programming is what TBN contributers give money for. I have no problem seeing movies as part of Christian programming. In fact, I hope they continue to contribute money for Christian programming to movie productions!
~ I pray in Jesus Name that God the Father continues to bless TBN and the ministries involved in their work to reach the world. I also pray in Jesus name a blessing on those who oppose TBN and its attempts to minister the Gospel to a dying world. I ask Father that you will guide TBN in its programming choices and in all the decisions it makes in the area of ministry that you have given them. In Jesus Name.
~ Continue to discuss amongst yourselves...

Peace,

Leimeng

They always do that on that show. It's kind of a "bragging" type of show. Usually they have Paul Sr or the wife going to one of the transmitters or shops and talking about where the gifts of the viewers is going. It's not the same as disclosing 100% of where the money is being funneled too...
GOD forbid they do that! *gasp! SO it wasn't every single dime..give me a break! YOU will find fault NO matter what....sheesh...give me a break.

I'm sorry, but I thought it was you who thought it was about the cost of the car, or should I say the ointment?

I thought I said that I could care less, and you said it was too expensive...

I agree with you here, if you think it is about the cost of the car, or the cost of the ointment, we have no common ground for discussion...
No my reference to the price is that people would defend the price of someone driving a car like that by using the story of the woman to justify it. My point overall is that God receives no glory from the price of our toys.

If TBN needs to tone down anti-Islamic rhetoric, to get more broadcasting access into muslim nations to present them with the gospel, couldn't it be a fair trade off? It's a possibility.
Actually they do not need to tone down anything the Gospel is the Gospel its truth and life to those who are perishing and you just have to give it to them as it is!! oohh and guess what i live in the middle east we have TBN in Arabic and alot of people are coming to christ as a result!! huray!!! so yeah people can go on arguing and debating about the BENTLEY but my question to them is, when was the last tym you led some one to christ? and when was the last tym you fed a hungry child and didnt BRAG about it, u knw its usually the ppl who dont give who make alot of noise about where the money in some one else's charity organisation is goin!! so yeah please.... please give the CROUCH FAMILY a break! they diserve to own planes for all i care they've done more for the kingdom of God in the past few months more than most of us will ever do in a life time!!!:)

IS that ALL people here have time to do is complain and gossip?!?! I can NOT believe the lack of love at this whole forum. GIVE me a break. You hear a little of something and run off with gossip like it was the gospel. Let me ask..IF you all had that kind of money..since you are so worried about feeding people etc..WOULD YOU use YOUR money and do that?? I some how doubt it. Look how selfish you are here at this site!! Cutting people down...gossiping...SHEESH!
envy abounds.

I believe we all understand your position on the facts and gossip issue and how upset you are. Since this thread and the posters here appear to have caused you a lot of grief, maybe it might be more beneficial for you to pray for everyone instead of continuing to make your case.
did LG get upset and leave the forum??? It sure looks like it..... mannn I really like her!

I understand where you're coming from.

But I don't think it's wrong to be 'rich'. And that last sentence makes it sound as if God DOESN'T want us to be rich.

Whatever your interpretation of Job, remember how he was BEFORE all that happened, and AFTER...he was RICH on the earth and probably got a better family too :D

Imagine if just a FEW mature Christians were as wealthy as Bill Gates...

Jesus said before He returned the gospel of the kingdom shall be preached throughout all the earth.

I know for a fact that Kenneth Copeland AND Bill Winston have stated that prosperity is about discemination, not accumulation.

God wants people to be open to receive His blessings...to have enough for themselves and 'overflow' to speed up the spreading of the gospel.

THAT is prosperity IMO...
I want to be rich. Every single person in the Bible was rich, including Jesus, so it's a part of the package called salvation. But, we have to share; we cant' be selfish or we'll never be rich. I want a GT Mustang, but it cost 30,000 not 240, 0000 and I can prolly find one on sale for 25,000. I believe in getting good deals.

I think you're way off base. It's not about having enough money to buy a fancy car. The question is: should you? Is there any reason for a Christian - who is supposed to live a modest life - to own a vehicle that costs even $100,000...much less $240,000? I mean, how can you even defend such an extravagant lifestyle? Where does Mr. Crouch get his money? From people who are giving money to TBN with the notion that their funds are going to help send missionaries to foreign countries? Or, are people sending money to TBN so that Paul can give some to his son...so his son can buy him another fast car...cause God is just oh so good? Why can't he be content with what he has? The money could be spent on other things that minister to other people who may be having a hard time. Ever thought of that? The apostle Paul bent over backwards not to place a burden on the shoulders of his people by not asking for monetary pleasures ... although he could have used his authority to do such. He knew how to be content. What? Matthew isn't content with 8 vehicles? He needs another one that costs $240,000? C'mon man. You can't honestly tell me that you don't see a problem here.

Yours truly in Christ,
sojourner
where does it say THAT in the Bible? By modest you mean poor... okay so no money for you!!! Give all the extra money to someone else, and go live in a tent and drive a junk car. *grins* I have noticed only poor ppl who dont think they will have anything or who are too lazy to do anything with their lives, are the very ones ranting and raving about rich Christians. Yet, if they won a millon dollar lottery, they would be whooping and hollering and prolly wouldn't give any of it to any ministry or church. Noooo it's allllll mineeeeeeeeeeeee.....

Nothing wrong with being rich. If you decieve people to get your money, huge problem.
