Whut? This ministry happens to protect Christians from fraudulent and dishonest ministries. It doesn't matter whether it's in the Bible or not. There's nothing in the Bible about a "better business bureau" either, but we still have one - and it protects consumers from fraudulent and dishonest corporations. You should be glad that there's someone out there looking out for you.
Well, I do admit that intuition may not be the best measure against a person. I'm sorry I said that; I didn't know it'd be misconstrued in this way. Sometimes, people just have feelings about other people. There doesn't have to necessarily be a "smoking gun" that causes these suspicions either. But when you look at a person's theology, their lifestyles, and what they say on their TV network and they don't logically add up, it's cause for concern - at least.
I can understand people trying to defend TBN against rumors and speculation. But these defenses are beginning to seem more like naivete.
I don't know why you're blasting me with accusations of defamation. I'm not an employee of the Trinity Foundation, and I didn't write those articles. I'm only providing links to them for everyone's FYI. Did you read them, or are you simply going by what you think is contained within them? You're spending more time attacking those with legitimate concerns about a questionable ministry than TBN itself!
I don't believe for a New York second that my concerns about TBN are "without cause". I suppose that probably comes across as arrogance, but I don't mean it that way. My belief is that if there are legitimate reasons for concern about TBN and their business dealings, they should be investigated. If those investigations reveal that they are on the level, fine. I won't say another word against TBN again. But if those investigations reveal that TBN is misusing ministry money, they deserve all the criticism and media attention they get! I think that there are legitimate concerns about the TBN ministry.
As for the "what does the Bible say about..." game, let me call attention to the story in the Bible about Jesus' reaction to the moneychangers in the temple - people who were using a sacred place such as a temple for their own profit. Maybe Paul and Jan Crouch should reread that story and think about it too.

If TBN has illegally used ministry funds, they deserve to have their names dragged through the mud - at least. Such media attention would not happen to more deserving individuals.

That's what happens to non-Christian organizations when they are proven to be dishonest in their business practices. Look at the whole Enron scandal. Why should Christians be treated differently? It has nothing to do with being a Christian; it's for consumers' protection.
