Jesus command is to obey His teaching, if He hasnt taught to touch then dont do it. or at least seek to focus on things and thus not to touch.
and that answer is the difference between the theology .. and the reality in the living word.
How is denying the reality going to solve anything?!
Oh? Then get off your computer, because He didn't say to use that either.Jesus command is to obey His teaching, if He hasnt taught to touch then dont do it. or at least seek to focus on things and thus not to touch.
Jaws13,
Ok so we have defined what we think lust is
Um, no, all you've done is cite obscure Scripture that has nothing to do with masturbation unless masturbation is directly condemned by Scripture as sexual immorality. Which it isn't., though we recognise you disagree, and we have described why we think masturbation is wrong, of the flesh rather than the spirit.
Then why hound people over it?As I believe Jesus Christ will judge us all, I dont see the need for anyone to have to show you its up to you what you believe.
I have provided a scholarly link that debunks the idea that lust has anything to do with thoughts. You have not defined what lust is. Which makes this:The devil, the world and our fallen state gives us those lustful feelings/thoughts.
Useless.The only way to combat them is through prayer and fasting and to read the Bible. Here is some advice:
As for bad thoughts, evil spirits speak to us in our own voice. If satan can change into an angel of light (2Cor 11:14 KJV), then he can change his voice.
Your brain must stay active and it must abide and remain in Christ throughout the day. Do not give into passivity. Being passive in our minds is the devils play ground. Do this in your mind; praise God, pray and think about verses because the Word of God is active (Heb 4:12 NAS).
Here are some verses:
Isa 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Rom 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2Cor 10:3-5
3.For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4. (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds)
5. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Phil 2:5
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Phil 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Phil 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Eph 4:12
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and
of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Eph 4:23
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
2Tim 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
1Pet 1:13
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end
for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
"This present world system is distinctly hostile to God which is calculated to interfere with our fellowship with God and the enjoyment of His presence."
Thanks,
TT
Its a good argument, however in the context and reasoning I gave from Matthew, I think it still is to do with the thoughts.I have provided a scholarly link that debunks the idea that lust has anything to do with thoughts. You have not defined what lust is.
Was I talking to you when I posted that?Its a good argument, however in the context and reasoning I gave from Matthew, I think it still is to do with the thoughts.
Its a good debate, I am not insisting your view is wrong, I cant, its a sound reasoning...
............................................................................................Yea boy, find a wife so you can have sex. I've known 100's of young christians get married right out of school, sure, they felt in love, but they wanted to have sex...Most divorced in less than two years.
Our cultural laws are different, we don't allow marriage at 13 as they did in biblical days, today most date into their 20's before marriage.
Trust me, if you get married your sexual needs aren't met "any and all the time." I've been married 15 years, kids, job, marriage gets busy, often it's hard to find time for good long love sessions. If my wife is busy and not in the mood I'm not gonna push sex on her, I'll just take care of the issue myself, the cravings leave and I'm much better prepared to meet her emotional needs without acting like a horn toad.
Like a movie I saw, a wife busy cooking and cleaning, had a apron on and her husband pushing her for sex over and over. She finally said " Ok, I'll lift my skirt and bendover and iron clothes on the floor...
............................................................................................
First off marriage isn't simply about love, its about making a committment, you don't just love your wife when she's nice, your commanded to love her as you promised, when you gave her your oath. many men's words or promises don't seem to amount to a hill of beans these days, first tough times and they bale out on their wives and their families. Our culture is not rearing men of character, but cowardly men who run from their promises and obligations. There is freedom in Christ, but you have to control what you put into your mind, you can't expect to fill your mind with pornagraphic images and walk in freedom from lust
It's really starting to stink in here. Seriously, stop feeding it.
What is loving and not lustful about masturbation?
...
What authority is there, if a man cannot judge your conscience for you?
