Looking for insight.

Hello. I am new to the world of forums, and this is slightly confusing. I just know that this is where I introduce myself. So here goes.

My name is Eric, and I am a Christian. I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was a child, and have spent the last decade growing in my faith, through hills and valleys, and am currently on what appears to be a rise out of a pretty deep valley. I long for insight on spiritual questions I have, and Christian wisdom. My mom might say that this isn't good for me because I have pretty bad OCD, and can tend to hyper-analyze spiritual things (scrupulosity), but I think a forum like this could really help me as I wrestle through some deep spiritual questions. Now I just have to decide what category my questions fit under. So that's the next step.

Welcome. In my short time here I can testify its been a great help discussing matters of faith with other christians (especially since most of my irl friends are nonreligious). If you just keep in mind your tendency to hyper-analyze so you can recognize when you're doing it, you should be fine.

Hello Eric, welcome to the group! It is so great that you are here. Are you also a member of a local body of believers? The app that I use is called “You Version”. It has almost any translation that you can think of and has the audio for some translations. Many churches have signed up for “Right Now Media”. This has the largest selection of Christian videos, everything from lectures on specific books of the bible to topic-based. There are a couple of books (other than the Bible) that I can say helped me. “How to Choose a Translation for All its Worth” and “How to Read the Bible for All its Worth”, both by Gordon D. Fee and Mark L. Strauss. Both of these books are on Kindle or on paperback. I hope this helps. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to reply to this post.
