At least he hasn’t asked about Kavorka yet. That takes more explaining....perhaps from Dr. Bison.

Not sure, either... BUT, when those two get together, Seinfeld, is a good guess ;)

It's a fictional Orthodox folk belief from Seinfeld---"the lure of the animal." Hilarious Larry David stuff in Seinfeld. Gotta love it.

Time for a garland of garlic!

Ya gotta love the part where the nun gives a "benediction" in an Orthodox liturgy. No iconostasis, George wearing weird Catholic-style altar boy getup, no icons, no incense. Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld sure were experts in Orthodoxy, weren't they!? LOL

yes....kavorka....

Although concerning the saints we concede that, just as, when alive, they pray for the Church universal in general, so in heaven they pray for the Church in general, albeit no testimony concerning the praying of the dead is extant in the Scriptures, except the dream taken from the Second Book of Maccabees"

Theres much more to be said but the bottom line is, though those who have entered rest in the faith do pray for the church, there is no scripture to back up the veneration or prayer to the saints. It also states earlier that the church fathers did not practice or teach this until much later which proves it was heterodox entering the church.
In the Martyrdom of Polycarp it states that after the centurions burnt his body, the faithful "collected up his bones, more precious than jewels and better purified than gold, and put them in an appropriate place where, the Lord willing, we shall celebrate the birthday of his martyrdom each year with joy and rejoicing".
There are so many miracles recorded surrounding the relics of the Saints throughout the history of the Church that there was little need to write anything about their veneration or prayer to them, and if it was a heterodox practice you would expect someone to have written against it. I don't recall seeing anyone condemning the practice at anytime which is evidence, I believe, of it being an orthodox practice from the beginning.
