Yep, that's a pretty good summary.

Now, show me where I called you a racist as you claim. Show me where I said that "abortion isn't wrong so they're not hypocrites and you're a racist". Show me one word that I've put in YOUR mouth.

You can't can you?

Your claim is as bogus as the racial stereotyping you've attempted with this thread.

Let's see if we can salvage something useful from this race-baiting.

The most dominant factor worldwide in determining the decision to have an abortion is not a racial one - it's an economic one. The largest group by far that choose to have abortions are those who exist below the median income level. Add to that lower education levels.

Even though abortion rates have dropped dramatically in the last 20 years, both worldwide and in the US, they remain significantly within the ranks of the poor and uneducated, regardless of race. It took me about 3 minutes to find a wealth of references to support that claim, if anyone really wants to challenge it.

This isn't a racial phenomenon, it's an economic one.

The claim presented in the OP is a false dichotomy. One might well ask why the OP is wasting time (and moderation at CF takes a lot of time) moderating this forum instead of protesting at Planned Parenthood.

I protest Planned Parenthood in different ways other than standing out front yelling at the women going in.

But here's the thing, those that live below the median income level and have historically lower education levels just happen to be black. So yes, they are killing off their future at a higher rate than whites are.

But hey, their body, their choice.

Un. Be. Liev. Able....!

So, we wouldn't necessarily know that you're an anti-abortion protestor, because we don't see you outside of abortion clinics. You have other ways of protesting.

Yet you choose to label those black people as hypocrites for doing EXACTLY the same thing! You have no way of knowing those "hypocrites" don't do what you do - they may also have "ways other than standing outside Planned Parenthood" to make their protests!

Thank you so much - from your own lips!

That's not entirely true. Those that live below the poverty level are black, caucasian, asian, middle eastern, hispanic, etc.

Also, black Americans are reproducing at a faster rate than white Americans. They start having children earlier, and have more of them. The concern isn't that the numbers of black Americans are dwindling, but that they can't support themselves economically.

YES I LABEL THEM AS HYPOCRITES. AS DID THE BLACK SHERIFF. AS DO COUNTLESS OTHERS.

Never once in their campaign do they even address what else is killing black people. NEVER ONCE do they talk about how THEIR OWN PEOPLE ARE KILLING EACH OTHER OFF - moreso than any police. THEY IGNORE THE STATISTICS, AND CHOOSE TO INSTEAD ATTACK POLICE OFFICERS WHO HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO BE DOING THEIR JOB.

Never mind that MOST of these guys that are killed by police were BREAKING THE LAW. Never mind that most of them were ATTACKING THE POLICE OFFICER. Oh, no...IT MUST BE RACISM BECAUSE IT'S A BLACK PERSON GETTING SHOT.

Now...do you need me to shout louder? Or do you get it?

Black lives only matter if it's cops doin' the killin'. Bottom line.

Go ahead and respond if you'd like, but understand that I'm done wasting my time on you.

Yeah, but let's assume that she's not out protesting that black people are unfairly targeted by police.

I do not disagree with your argument because it was so softly spoken, but because I see a logical problem in it. Increasing the volume of your speech doesn´t make logical problems in it go away. It just makes them louder.

I think the problem is that you've missed the point of these protests. "They" are not simply protesting black kids being shot. "They" are not protesting that black people die. "They" are protesting a system that looks racist. "They" are protesting a system that certainly appears to unfairly work against "them".

I don't know that you're racist. I'd bet that you watch FoxNews though.

Doesn't matter. Her charge of hypocrisy was entirely about the absence of black protestors at abortion clinics.

She's just provided a perfectly good reason for people not doing that, yet who may still be against abortion. She cites her own actions as an example!

I'm just glad that she's decided to put down the mask.

The body count from abortion is huge compared to the body count from police shooting black people. Its a valid point. I don't think blacks are ready to start turning on black mothers for aborting black babies. Easier to get mad at the white cop.

I put the same question to you.

How do you know that those people protesting the cops don't ALSO protest black abortions? Do you make the same assumptions that she does? Do you leap to the same conclusions?

How do you know that "those people" don't do like she does and find "other ways" to protest abortions?

The sheriff and "countless others" didn't choose to start this thread. You did.

And, like YOU, they may be against those abortions, but have "other ways" of showing their opposition. We have no way of knowing. So, we jump to conclusions when we make the accusations of "hypocrisy".

Irrelevant to your charges of "hypocrisy". You're scrambling.

Now...do you need me to shout louder? Or do you get it?

No, the shouting has served its purposes admirably.

Black lives only matter if it's cops doin' the killin'. Bottom line.

You don't know that's their attitudes. You are making a blanket statement about an entire group. In this case, a racial group.

Go ahead and respond if you'd like, but understand that I'm done wasting my time on you.

Thank you for your permission to speak.

Well I would certainly hope that somewhere in our Nation-wide protests, that somebody realizes the policing problem is not limited to racism. It includes racism to be sure, but you don't need to be black to be a victim of injustice. Police will perpetrate that crime on anyone that isn't rich. Not sure if we have accurate figures to speak to likelihood of getting shot by race, but false accusation, planting of evidence, brutality? Whites are fair game. Anyone in the working class, really.

Protests are long overdue, and by the looks of the comments here, far from over. 20 more years needed to raise awareness of the problem?

Just as valid a question - how is it hypocritical to NOT protest? Is an individual somehow duty-bound to spend their time protesting?

(If so, I missed the memo)

There are stats for both. If you're black, you are MUCH more likely to be pulled over, arrested, shot, imprisoned. But, you are also correct - if you're poor, you are also more likely to be a police target.

And if you're both.........?

The stats for both part: being shot? I've seen that idea challenged. Pulled over, arrested and/or imprisoned, I would certainly hope we have stats that clearly create a paper trail for this outrage. If you have actual stats that show a black person is more likely to be shot by a cop, I'd love to see it.

Even more I'd love to see it in terms of unjust shooting, but we really don't keep figures like that in this Country. (We seem to enjoy a dearth of gun-related info)
