  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Because this is the nature of this threat. It has gone from talking about feelings of being alone to place were a group of us and update about our life. Think if it as like a mini-board in a thread. We can always talk about the feelings of being alone, but sometimes it's nice to talk about other things. We all here talk out how alone we are...how we want the special someone...we just make things worse, and the point of this board almost becomes pointless. The point of the Single's board is to encourage each other, sharpen each other, and a place to ask questions.

Sometimes from what I have seen....we have not really help each other at times, and only dis encouraged each other because we come here (the board) and "complain" about our single hood and feelings of aloneness. I'm not at all against sharing our struggles with feeling alone...everyone does...I feel it to...but I think sometimes getting large group of single's...we just feed of each other loneness...and it just makes everyone worse. Our feeling of being alone shouldn't be ingnore or just brushed aside...but we should be proactive. Make friends...I have become great friends with Singing, Keri, Eerine (sp), Teufelhund, and Crucifix and many others.

I agree totally Anthony!

Note to everyone: Please don't feel bad about getting off topic on this thread. I think we've grown so much closer to each other on here and I'm so blessed to have ya'll in my life. Ya'll don't know how much ya'll have helped me in the past months! I love each and everyone of you! I've seen some major wonderful changes in us in the past few months! We went from a group of lonely singles to a group of wonderful friends who love, encourage and support one another. At least that's the way I feel. I love ya'll so much! :groupray:

should have my honey analyze that one for me....now i'm curious

Also, Servant you can anatazyl the statement yourself :)
Good points,

I was using this site to lean on while try to get social with people around me. Don't get me wrong, people here can be great. Just I love to invite friends over, talk about stuff, go out and do things.

I met lot people online, but they come and go like the wind. As there is nothing to truly invest my social needs in. I become a lost wander walking the sands of the internet. Chasing the wind...

well, i am always good for analyzing things, even when i dont realize it, my mom hates it, dont feel like i can talk to her sometimes, cant seem to be able to keep her attention, nontheless i love her to pieces, what makes me different, i guess :)

actually discussing this with AWorkInProgress just last night, just that i shouldnt fear that, but in knowing that i can analize some things, the trick is to make sure i'm growing from it, not to be stuck in trying to figure things out that maybe i shouldn't, but noticed my tendency to want to analyze everything is my gift, which again, brings me back to the idea that i need to grow from what i find out, even on my own.

but i am relieved to know i have my one personal counselor ;) - should i get stuck on something.

yay! make sure you drink a lot of extra fluids right now. The reason for is that if will help thin the mucus in your throat, and allow you to breath easier/cough less.

Today I gave my first shot!

WTG, Anthony! Another way I look at needles, especially if I have to get bloodwork done is to consider it this way: Realistically, I know it's not going to happen. When the nurse comes and tells me to make a fist to try and raise my veins so they can insert the needle in my vein to get the required sample, they will always have a tourniquet with them. Fortunately, my veins are fairly close to the surface, so when I make the fist, I tell them, "I'm coming in for my 'fix'!" (sample which they take) Rarely do they need the tournuquet, but they use it anyway.

I know that lots of patients don't have the type of "superficial" veins and it makes it more difficult.

The point of all this is for the nurses to distract the patient for the moment when they insert the needle, provided it's an IV. IM (Intra-muscular) needles are easier for the nurses b/c of the multitude of areas in which they can inject the needle. I hope this explains a bit why some diversion is helpful for the patient. (BTW, I was in Nursing School, so I can speak on SOME matters, not all!)

Yep that's is all true! But the distract can only work for some people. People will extreme fears of needles...you can just hold their hand and that's it.

Can everyone we praying for me...I have been an idot. I told my work that I would take up an extra shift on Friday. So Friday...I'm getting up at 7:30-8:00 to study some more before my first nursing Health Assessment test at 10:00 am...than i have work at 2:00pm-10:00pm, than back at work at 6:00-2:00pm... 3:00pm-9:00pm i have to write a paper that is due thursday and I have had no chance to look at it and all of this on Saturday. Then on Sunday I work 6:00am till 10:00 pm (double shift). So yeah...in three days...32 hours of work. I can do some homework at my job...but spending that many hours assisting six austic adults (bless their heart...I love them to death..)kind makes you very shot. snappy, and unstable. I told my work...that after this month...16 hours max a week. My nursing program recommends 10 hours max of work a week.

So yeah...I was an idiot.:mad::cry::sigh::help:

Consider it done, Anthony. This is what I was referring to as "balance" in your social and academic life.
Haha, Balance? What's that....my scales on my "balance" are unfair :) haha.

But it will take me a while to figure everything out. But thanks everyone!

Not just that; you need to find a balance with your work, studies and social life all at once when you're working. There aren't any scales for this type of "balance." If you don't make certain that everything is in order, you'll "burn out" if something is amiss in any of these areas. Money isn't everything, but it helps the world go around.

Aye...but the thing with my work is that we are once again understaff. We had 4 full time people (enough to cover the week), and less than 3 part time staff. 2 of those staff will only work afternoons, and on Sat only. So that leads us to our normal situation. Had the pt people do double or make the FT people work overtime. Due to the natural of our work we dont' have people throwing application at our door. We have a hard time getting, and keeping people.
In the past it was even more of a problem...because it was either I work the 32 hour weekend....or I let the 32 year old mother work extra hours instead of being home with her children....the children and the mother was dealing with a very emotiional distant, but controlling husband....and that the marriage was falling apart. So....either I worked the the extra shifts....or the problem with the falling apart marriage and never got to see her children very often go to work. So it was sticky:sigh:
But yeah I know what you are saying Crufix. I set my max hours next month as 16 hours...and I think this is my last bad weekend.

What you should do is hit the teacher over the head with an oar, then change the gradebook to reflect a higher score, as you were sick that would likely be the ethical choice.

^_^ LOL! I wish I could do that!
