True, it was wide spread in Rome as well as throughout the places traveled by Paul. However, Paul did not pen this Jewish Levitical compound word (arsenokoites) to mean the same thing that the Koine Greek words meant for same-sex between men and women. The former Jewish Christians would have immediately recognized this word identifying the pagan priests. The same pagan priests that the Old Testament Jews had to constantly deal with.

As to the term 'sodomite' this word did not originate until the 1300s A. D. which relegates this word invalid for objective discussion.

I beg to differ, because I see it from a cultural context of situation and not from a religious context of situation, as you are implying. If you closely read Paul's entire writings, you will discover that he was not religious at all. His religiosity would have been as a Pharisee of Pharisee.

The Church that Paul instructed was functional in structure and not a hierarchical one in structure, meaning it was a flat structure consisting of different appointed works of the Spirit, with Jesus as the only head.

The same pagan priests that the Old Testament Jews had to constantly deal with.

Jesus befriended tax collectors and prostitutes and other people with unsavory reputations, but he drew a line. People who were guilty of continued extreme moral failings never had a place in his life. There were no associations with murderers, corrupt political leaders who steal from the people they are supposed to serve, or with homosexuals. Matthew 11: 20 - 24 tells us why.

Here we have the evidence, with the backing of context......

Jesus began to condemn the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done, because they repented not: Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works, which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the day of judgment, than for you. And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. We need the context of what Jesus is pointing at......

This is pointed out because of the popularity of a myth that is currently in circulation and has been for many years --to the effect that Christ was silent on the subject of homosexuality, known as "sodomy" in the Bible. Here is irrefutable documentation that, on the contrary, Jesus condemned sodomy, a point of view consistent with all relevant passages on the issue in the Hebrew Bible / Old Testament, and consistent with the comments of the Apostle Paul, and with the authors of II Peter, James, Revelation, and so forth.

Jesus and the apostles were NOT silent on the subject of homosexuality. Indeed the evidence continues.....

This reflects on other quotes from Jesus in Matthew 10 and in Luke, but the 11th chapter of Matthew is critical to everything else.

Here is the translation used by the scholarly of verses 20 - 24: "Then he began to insult the cities where he had performed most of his miracles, because they had not changed their ways. Damn you Chorazin! Damn you Bethsaida! If the miracles done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have changed their ways long ago. So I tell you, Tyre and Sidon will be better off at the judgement than you. And you, Capernaum, you don't think you will be exalted to heaven, do you? No, you'll go to Hell. Because if the miracles done among you had been done in Sodom, Sodom would still be around. So I tell you, the land of Sodom will be better off at the judgement than you."

So the context is the sin of Sodom, for if those miracles of Jesus had been done in Sodom, they would have repented of their homosexual practices.

The point of actual New Testament / Biblical scholarship can only be, if it is to have serious value, to find out what the authors of the text meant when they wrote what they did. The idea is to "let the Bible speak for itself." To start with an interpretation and let nothing get in the way of predetermining your conclusions based on modern-era values you want to find ancient justification for, isn't scholarship at all.

Jesus compares apples with apples, when it came to the actual context of the sins of Sodom and the unrepentant cities of Capernaum, Chorazin and Bethsaida.

In the next post I will deliver the evidence, with the backing of context to what Paul is alluding to, as far as the Man/People (anthropos) of Sin is concerned.

Clearly Paul is teaching about Devine natural things as being evidence of the Invisible qualities of God, that are seen in the uncorrupted nature. So that going against nature, is according to Paul inexcusable.

21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. (Romans 1:21-23)

Paul is using a hyperbole to associate filthy symbols, such as animals and reptiles, with a corrupted state of those who have taken an unnatural path. Paul previously alluded that these ignorant people are without excuse, because they have wilfully made a choice, by REPLACING the glorious image of the immortal God with the unnatural image, that operates outside the intended functional uses of the natural order of things. So that they replace the natural function, with an unnatural function, that results in utter disgust. The hyperbolic symbols that Paul uses, is for the purpose of conveying his disgust.

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. (Romans 1:24-25)

Here Paul associates sexual impurity, with unnatural sexual acts. He associates this unnatural act, that is disorder, as an inclination to worship the creature and men's heart desire, rather than the glorious image of the immortal God, who created man in his own image.

Paul calls and defines this unnatural act as a LIE.

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. (Romans 1:26-27)

So according to Paul, he would call these homosexual acts as unnatural and therefore a LIE.

32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. (Romans 1:32)

Now let us put the Man of Sin in its proper cultural context, shall we.....

3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

Remember Paul states in 2 Thessalonians 2:7 that the secret power of lawlessness is already at work. This implies that homosexuality was rampant, but was behind closed doors, hence why it was secret in Paul's time.

When we hear on the news, of global Pride Rallies in all the cities of the world, is this secret now REVEALED?

You, better believe it.

Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is alluding to the People (anthropos) of lawlessness, who operated secretly behind closed doors. This can hardly be pagan priests. In fact the temple of God being spoken of, is that of the Holy Ghost. Tie this in with the great fallen away from the faith and the strong delusion, you have Christians in the end of days, proclaiming their unnatural image over and above God's Created Rights Image.

Now do you understand who it is that is sitting in the temple of God and assuming an AntiChristos or replacement of the Image of God role, which is the image that they have invented for themselves, so that they serve themselves as a result. In Romans 1, we have the same group of people doing it in Paul's time.

So what did Paul call this unnatural image?

10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

This unnatural image, with reference to Romans 1, is the lie of homosexuality and the unnatural unions formed there of. This is the lie, which the Man (plural for people) of sin serves, as a replacement to the image of God, as this once secret power of lawlessness, is NOW REVEALED in THE TIMES that we are living in.

The enemy has infiltrated the Assemblies of God and the Churches as the many AntiChristos, who now serve themselves, within the context of the great falling away from the faith and the strong delusion, to serve the lie of homosexuality.

The enemy is within and unless the righteous stand up and be separated from them, we will all fall and be condemned by Jesus Christ, at his return.

Heed the warning beloved brothers and sisters, which includes also those beloved brothers and sisters who have permanently turned away from unnatural homosexual practices.

Stand your ground and guard the flock against the enemies encroachment.

Jesus Christ be with us all in these dangerous times that we are living in.
