Know any "secular" christian bands.

I really don't think we should criticize a band on whether they're "Christian' or not or if they're Christians but don't proclaim their faith in their music and if Lifeway once carried them at one time and they once mentioned God being their mentor in an interview but they don't really have a clean message in their music and the whole things makes me somewhat sick.

The music is what should be judged more than the artists.

I didn't know that until I heard Michael W Smith did the song 40.
Also Darlene Zscheck did Walk on off her new CD Kiss of Heaven.
That kinda led me to believe that they are.

switchfoot is a secular band.. i dont really consider them christian because they dont mention God but they are christians.... and the same with POD and Creed... Stacie Orrico... MxPx, Good Charlotte are christians... and more are as well but my head hurts...

Scott Weiland, formerly of Stone Temple Pilots, and now lead singer of Velvet Revolver gives thanks to God in VR's album. He doesn't specify if its THE God or a generic god, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

In my opinion Usher falls in the line with DMX, Bone Thugs, Ja Rule and some of that sort. Even if they are professing Christians I think they disqualified themselves from being effective witnesses, which Paul says is possible. Not judging them by the way, just making an observation.

I've seen Creed in concert and they claim to be Christian. They use the Lord's name in an improper way in one of their songs though.

Well, I know that Steven Tyler has thanked God with a capital G several times in interviews, etc. He also has said regarding his 20 years of sobriety "Letting go and letting God really does help." Not sure if that qualifies him as a Christian, but at least he's headed in the right direction.

Amy Grant is a christian...she began over 20 years ago has a Christian artist..she has won both grammys{for gospel music} and Dove awards.

Scott stapp from Creed{he left the band} was a backslidding Christian who came back. His song off The Passion soundtrack called "re-Learn Love is amazing. "On a dark and lonely highway, I need the Son to raise my head. I stand before you i am naked, my beating heart is in your hands"

some would say rappers such as DMX, Mase, and Kayne West. Its debateable.

As far as mainstream christian bands go:
blindside, pillar, skillet, switchfoot, stacie orrico, dc talk, POD, Chevelle, Lifehouse, Sixpence None the Richer, and many others.

Evanescence is argueable but Id say that they are in the same boat as Creed. I know Rocky is christian, but I cant speak for the others. I cant even really speak for him except from what Ive read about his former bands (Soul Embraced and Living Sacrifice).

I know three of the members of U2 consider themselves Christian, although they really don't share their faith. Bono was on the cover of Christianity Today last year. I also know Jessica Simpson is a Christian..any others?

Lauren Hill is a confessed Christian. I don't know if she is making music any more.

Big and Rich are Christians and some of their southern rock/country songs reflect this... then they put out Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy... Go figure.
