Well, the problem here is how do you determine if a prophecy doesn't come to pass?

I remember reading through the Old Testament prophets, and noticing that some of the prophecies had dual fulfillments. An immediate literal partial fulfillment, then a more figurative apocolyptic future fulfillment. Then, as other posters have shown in this thread, God can suspend the fulfillment of a prophecy if the people repent or heed Gods instruction. How can we see now, if a prphecy has been suspended for a future generation? As far as we are concerned within our present view, it has not happened.

The best post I have seen in this thread is when some one said they like Kim Clement, and take what they can, and leave the rest. That should be our attitude to all of Gods servants. God can judge His own. We don't need to do it for Him.

In regards to the statement someone made about it being dangerous to not know someone is a false prophet, I say this. It is only dangerous if you are looking to the prophet to guide your life. If you are being led of the Spirit, then prophets don't guide your life. They confirm what God is already showing you. This is the only real difference between Old Testament and New Testament prophets.

Under the Old Covenant, only the prophet had the Spirit. So people needed guidance from the prophet. In the new Covenant we all have the Spirit. We don't need guidance, but we can receive confirmation. A false prophet is only dangerous to someone looking for guidance. Someone looking for guidance needs to mature in Christ, and learn to be led of the Spirit, not be scared of false prophets.

sometimes prophecy does not come to pass because it was not prophecy. it was just somebody talking.
but...sometimes a word does not come to pass because WE did not do what we were supposed to do, get in the will of God, pray, make sure that we are listening to God. prophecy is conditional. God's Word is not, but we get what we are supposed to have when we do what we are supposed to do.
some of the things that have been prophesied to me are just coming to pass. one in particular said "prepare yourself", so if i did not do that, the opportunities would not come, or if they came i would not be ready for them and would fail. God does not set us up for failure.
some words have just been words...so i have learned to be very particular about who speaks over me, and i never go looking for somebody to give me a "word" because that is just what i will get. a "word". might be true, might be false, might just be somebody speaking out of their own spirit. :o

i like kim clement, i don't always understand or agree with all that he says, but i see that he is a man of God.

God is really going to answer the cries of his people. I mean in everyway you can imagine.

The best is really yet to come. This is not the time to sit around doubting God.

This is the time to get close to him to the point where you can sit and talk with him yourself. You then won't have to worry about if a prophecy is true, God will confirm it through his Holy Spirit to you...

Or, you can wait and see his hand move..Then you will believe..Either way, you will believe........

I have more the Lord is telling me to say:

As long as you look for God in ways you 'think' he should appear, you will be in for a surprise. God does not do things the way 'man' thinks he should.

Most are looking to hear God speak through only a certain type of person. The prejudice is there in the hearts of many because the word may not come from the 'source' you expect. Jesus was born in a manger, and came riding on a donkey. They didn't expect the "King" to come this way, this is why they missed what was right in their faces.

You better lay down all prejudices about who you think God can use and how you think he can come. He is using the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. All who think they are wise in their own eyes, God says he will make you appear foolish.

The bible has been misinterpreted. God is doing a new thing. Only those who are spiritually mature can see it. All others will have to 'literally' see it to believe.

Without Faith is it absolutely impossible to please God. He is only pleased with our absolute Faith in HIM, not ourselves.

He wants the pure in heart..and Only the pure in heart can see him. That means see him in the spiritual realm........

So, the "Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets my harm" scripture would be very relevant during these times.

Get your mouths off of God's people and walk by Faith.

I was reading a true story the other day on how this pastor had recieved word from God that He was going to rip evil from the earth within the next year. The pastor took this to mean that the end was coming. After a year was up and nothing at all having taken place the pastor began asking God why He had given him that messege if He wasn't going to do anything. The pastor said God told him that the only way to get rid of evil is to replace it with good and that He was doing it.

People need to also realize, when God says He is going to do something He usually begins with a seed and then that seed has to grow and become what God said it was going to become. Most of the time, when God says something is going to happen, He is talking about how He is planting seeds.

That prophecy seems to indicate that this person will be from Michigan, a VP then because of impeachment, become president.

It describes this man as a person who "knows God". Romney is a Mormon, Mormonism is contrary to God's teachings. If Romney is the only candidate from Michigan, and if this prophecy stated that this man from Michigan would be the NEXT President, the prophecy therefore is false. Unless, ofcourse, some candidate picks a VP who is not on the radar at the moment.

Well I do see a lot happening in the Spiritual Realm, in one month alone we as a church of 400 saw 150 make professions of faith, our church is no longer big enough for the increase over the last year, additional seating has had to be put in. We are not alone I know that, God is wakening us up people.

Ofcourse, anyone who claims to be speaking for God can be called vain... Still, plastering your name all over the place doesn't fight the problem.

Give me the prophet who has no riches. Give me the Mad prophet who lives a life of poverty out of willingness, who does not boast himself, who does not speak of himself. The prophet with no name or face.

When the angels came to the shepards that night they proclaimed peace to men. Was the peace a reality yet? No, that peace came when Jesus died on the cross. Yet the angels prophsied that peace had come to men. That's a 30 something year time span! Yet, using the wisdom of many in this thread, those angels were lying, and were lying for 33 years, until their prophecy came true.

It is a good illustration and I totally get you. I am not discrediting anything you say. You are right on time.
