  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Jn 3:36 He who believes and trusts in the Son and accepts Him [as Savior] has eternal life [that is, already possesses it]; but he who does not believe the Son and chooses to reject Him, [disobeying Him and denying Him as Savior] will not see [eternal] life, but [instead] the wrath of God hangs over him continually.”
(MY NOTE: Anyone that places their FAITH in the Son HAS ALREADY/RIGHT NOW eternal life)

Jn 5:24 “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins—the believer is transformed], and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed [over] from death into life.
(MY NOTE: He that has FAITH in Christ & believes the Father sent Him "HAS" < present tense > ETERNAL LIFE.)

Jn 6:47 47 I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he who believes [in Me as Savior—whoever adheres to, trusts in, relies on, and has faith in Me—already] has eternal life [that is, now possesses it].
(MY NOTE: Whoever has FAITH in Christ: ALREADY POSSESSES, eternal life)

Jn 14:
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [c]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever—
MY NOTE: Believers in the Son will be "given" the Holy Spirit. Who will be with you FOREVER)

17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.
(MY NOTE: The Holy Spirit of Truth GIVEN to ALL believers REMAINS them CONTINUALLY)

1 Jn 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God [which represents all that Jesus Christ is and does], so that you will know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have eternal life.
(MY NOTE: BELIEVES in the Son of God ALREADY?IT'S BEEN SETTLRD have RIGHT NOW > ETERNAL LIFE!)

Acts 10:
44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all those who were listening to the message [confirming God’s acceptance of Gentiles].
(MY NOTE: They HEARD, BELIEVED & Holy Spirit falls on these gentiles. Void of any self-works, received by FAITH ALONE)

45 All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles.
(MY NOTE: Thru FAITH ALONE these gentiles received the free gift of God's eternally indwelling, salvation sealing Holy Spirit.)

Acts 11:
16 Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’
(MY NOTE: Only Christ can baptize with His salvation sealing, eternal life giving Holy Spirit)

17 So, if God gave Gentiles the same gift [equally] as He gave us after we accepted and believed and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ [as Savior], who was I to interfere or stand in God’s way?”
(MY NOTE: Gentiles that believed/had FAITH in the Lord Jesus Christ & FREELY received Christ's salvation sealing Holy Spirit baptism/GIFT/Acts 10:45, 11:17!)

Acts 15:
8 And God, who knows and understands the heart, testified to them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us;
(MY NOTE: Christ knows every persons true heart. GAVE these gentiles His salvation sealing, eternal life giving Holy Spirit)

9 and He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith [in Jesus]..
(MY NOTE: Thru FAITH ALONE these BELIEVING were PURIFIED/CLEASNED when GIVEN Christ's eternal life giving Holy Spirit, thru FAITH ALONE)

Rom 5:
1 Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).
(MY NOTE: BELIEVERS - See Rom 1:7. Have been <past tense > justified = Judicially declared/pronounced righteous by a sovereign creator God. Totally ACQUITTED/PARDONED from ALL SINS)

2 Through Him we also have access by faith into this [remarkable state of] grace in which we [firmly and safely and securely] stand. Let us rejoice in our [a]hope and the confident assurance of [experiencing and enjoying] the glory of [our great] God [the manifestation of His excellence and power].
(MY NOTE: By the GRACE of God thru FAITH in Jesus FINISHED sin atoning work. The believers is FIRMLY SAFE & SECURE!)

Rom 3:26 It was to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus [and rely confidently on Him as Savior].
(MY NOTE: Jesus the justifier; thru FAITH ALONE placed in HIM. JUSTIFIED & HE is COMPLETELY TRUST WORTHY)

Rom 4:5 But to the one who does not work [that is, the one who does not try to earn his salvation by doing good], but believes and completely trusts in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness (right standing with God).
(MY NOTE: He that believes on Jesus, the justifier. Thru FAITH ALONE is pronounced righteous/placed in a right standing with God the Father).

Eph 2:
8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;

(MY NOTE: No self-works needed or allowed)

Jude 1:
24 Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight,
(MY NOTE: It's Christ that's able to keep you, not our self-works)

OSAS! Jesus did all the WORK. All anyone has to do is BELIEVE in His FINISHED sin atoning work & TRUST Him.

You’re not even consistent in your arguments. Notice that in your post above you rejected the commandment to abide in Christ in John 15 as being only pertaining to Jews yet now you’re quoting John 14 as evidence of the New Covenant when both John 14 and John 15 happened at the same place, at the same time, and was spoken to the exact same people. Not one thing has changed between John 14 & John 15. Both of these chapters take place in the upper room with Jesus speaking only to His faithful 11 apostles after Judas had left to betray Him.

Again you mix covenants, maybe this will help:

Matt 24:13 "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved".

Scripture Study Tips

When dissecting any verse of scripture. Ask yourself, of whom, to whom, with what words, what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what is written before and what follows any single verse context.
^^^^^Myles Coverdale, Bible theologian/translator^^^^^

So, ask: Who is writing? Who’s it written to? What are the circumstances? What’s the context before? What's the context after?

Invariably Matt 24:13 is used, Out of Context.

Matt 24:13 Proper Context. Who is the speaker? JESUS

Context: Jesus is sitting speaking privately to his still under Mosaic law Jewish disciples. This is day 3 of passion week. The Holy Spirit has yet to be given, therefore, no Body of Christ/Christian exist.

Context: What is Jesus speaking about? Verse 3 the end of the age. The end of your life? NO!

Context: Verses 4-13 The prophecy here parallels the END TIME seal judgments:

Matt 24: Vs 5 - Rev 6:2 false Christs, Vs 6 - Rev 6:3&4 war, Vs 7 - Rev: 5&6, Famine, Vs 6&7 - Rev 6:7&8 death, Vs 9-13 - Rev 6:6-11 martyer's

Matt 24:14 the gospel of the kingdom =100% under the law Jewish doctrine. Quote: "and then shall the end come". The end of one's life? NO!

Vs 15 references Daniel & the abomination of desolation

Vs 16 let those where? in Judea! Who is from Judea? JEWS!!!

Vs 21 there shall be great tribulation. In your life? No! Vs 27 Christ returns. Vs 29 After the tribulation of those days, NOT your life!

Context: Matt 24 Jesus is speaking to "Jews only about Israel's Future" Foretelling the tribulation period to come. BTW the tribulation is referred to as JACOB/ISRAELS TROUBLE. Jeremiah 30:7) BTW, The Body/Bride of Christ escapes the tribulation/God's wrath (1 Thes 4:16, 5:9) The only thing they'll be ENDURING is a multitude of blessings!

When reading Vs 13, he who endures to the end. One must take from scripture via context. Not adding to scripture one's own non-contextual, doctrinal narrative.

Example:
Matt 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

Ok, Jesus tells his disciples DON'T go to gentiles. Should we broad brush this statement Jesus made here & apply it to the Church today? If your answer is yes, then ALL gentiles are forever lost! We can't broadly paint the future Body of Christ into Matt 10 or Matt 24.

All scripture was written for us. Not all scripture is written to us.

Romans 15:4 (A) whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning
(NOTE: NOT all scripture is written for our doctrine. Example: Are we required to bring a sin sacrifice to the Temple?)

Finally,
Although you've cited a verse (out of context & applied with your own narrowminded doctrinal beliefs). We can glean many truths from Jesus teaching: A coming tribulation, full of perilous times, signs of Christ’s return & ultimately His The glorious return

You posted this in reply to me saying that we must abide in Christ and endure to the end which is not only from Matthew 10 but also from John 15. So your cherry picking verses from Christ and rejecting everything He taught that refutes your theology.

The words saved and eternal life refer to a person’s current status. No doubt the Galatians were saved and had eternal life before they were severed from Christ and fallen from grace. There’s also no doubt that they weren’t saved and wouldn’t receive eternal life once Christ became of no benefit to them.

Abrahamic Covenant: Based on the UNCONDITIONAL Promises from God.

The Abrahamic covenant takes place 430 years (Gal 3:17) before the Mosaic law Covenant. The Abrahamic covenant is based solely on God's promises & FAITH ALONE placed in them/Him.

Gen 12: Verses 1-4 The Lord speaks, Abram listens & the LORD makes covenant promises.

Genesis 15:1-5 the Lord speaks, Abram BELIEVES ONLY & the LORD declares Abram to be righteous. (Vs 6) Abram believes what the LORD says will come to pass & the LORD declares Abram to be righteous.
(MY NOTE: This declaration of righteousness is made 40 years before Abraham offers Isaac on Mt Moriah)

Abram is snoring while LORD Himself cuts the covenant, walking thru the fire:

Gen 12:
12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.

17 And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces.

Genesis 22:16 (A) By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD.

The Mosaic law covenant cut at Sinai. Is a CONDITIONAL covenant cut by TWO parties, the people & the Lord.

Ex 19:
7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the Lord commanded him.
(MY NOTE: Law of Moses was given to: The house of Jacob/children of Israel (reread vs 3)

8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that the Lord hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the Lord.
(MY NOTE: "ALL" the people answered & said, "ALL" that the Lord hath spoken WE WILL DO! They could have said no & left, yet, THEY ALL AGREED to the words the Lord had spoken. Now, anyone that wasn't part of the House of Jacob when they left Egypt, was now, by choice, part of this Sinai covenant.)

This began the Mosaic dispensation of Law covenant. AGREED upon by the Lord & ALL the House of Jacob/Israel. This covenant required SELF-WORKS to receive blessings (Deut 28).

Jesus death ended the (Israel Only) Mosaic law dispensation here: Matt 27:51 & Heb 9:14-18.

Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

Today's gospel of the GRACE of God (Acts 20:24). Was given to Paul by direct revelation (Gal 1:12) of the Risen Lord (Acts 22:7,8,10,18, 21, 23:11, 26:14-18). Today's NT's gospel of the GRACE of God is the fulfillment. Of the UNCONDITIONAL covenant promises, God made to Abraham. Jesus did does/all the WORK!

The only requirement to receive ALL Christ's FREE GIFTS & blessings is FAITH, placed in Jesus & His FINISHED sin atoning work.

HOLY SPIRIT - A gift given thru FAITH: Acts 10:45, 11:17

ETERNAL LIFE - A gift given thru FAITH: Rom 6:23, Jn 5:24

RIGHTEOUSNESS - A gift given thru FAITH: Rom 4:5 & 5:17-18

GRACE - Given freely & received thru FAITH: Rom 3:24, 4:16, 5:1-2, 15, 11:6, Eph 2:5 & 8. Gifts are GIVEN & NOT earned!

Eph 2:
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(MY NOTE salvation comes by GRACE thru FAITH & NO SELF-WORKS NEEDED/ALLOWED)

BEWARE! Of scripturally inept covenant mixers. That make salvation about ones self/works. Don't allow them to place you under a WORKS covenant the Lord Jesus DIED fulfilling. Whereby robing Him of the just praise, glory, thanksgiving & honor, He's due! AMEN & Amen.

THE DOCTRINE OF ETERNAL SECURITY IS ONLY 500 TEARS OLD

The doctrine of eternal security was formulated in the 16th century by the Protestant reformers. Before the reformation it never existed and was never taught in any Christian church. So when it comes to interpreting the scriptures, it’s not a good idea to take the advice of men who weren’t even born until 1500 years after the apostles had already died when we have the writings of the disciples of the apostles who were taught by them and followed them for years to help us understand how their writings were intended to be interpreted.

See the problem with so many reformed believers is that they ignore the scriptures that refute their theology and their doctrines. Instead of actually incorporating all scripture into their theology they simply discard the verses that refute their theology. Let me give you an example.

Like for example when I mention that Paul specifically said that the Galatians had received the Holy Spirit and that they had been severed from Christ and fallen from grace, reformed believers won’t even address this issue, instead they just quote a bunch of other verses as if this somehow subtracts what Paul said to the Galatians instead of incorporating this information into their theology. It’s almost like a card game where one verse cancels out another verse except the problem is ALL OF THE VERSES ARE TRUE. So when they see “by grace you have been saved” to them that overrules “you have been severed from Christ, you have fallen from grace” because they don’t add together both verses to arrive at the true interpretation that was intended. Our theology must line up with ALL SCRIPTURE in order to be true, it cannot contradict any verses otherwise it is false.

NT Gospel of Jesus Christ:

1 Cor 15:
1 Now brothers and sisters, let me remind you [once again] of the good news [of salvation] which I preached to you, which you welcomed and accepted and on which you stand [by faith].

2 By this faith you are saved [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain [just superficially and without complete commitment].

3 For I passed on to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

4 and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],

PARSING:
Vs 1, ""The good news of SALVATION"" preached to you, ""which you accepted by FAITH"".

Vs 2, You were SAVED by FAITH & reborn from above, spiritually transformed, renewed & set apart for His purpose.

Vs 3, The most ""important"" SALVATION information needed is: (Vs 3) Christ died for our sins (Vs 4) was buried & He was raised on the 3rd day. (NO H2O NEEDED!)

Synopsis: The gospel/good news whereby you are SAVED by FAITH placed in: Christ' sin atoning sacrifice/offering/payment: He died/Shedding His sinless perpetually cleansing (Heb 10:14) God blood, was buried & rose on the 3rd day. (Father receipt, sins required payment received & accepted. (NO H2O NEEDED!)

Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed "ye were sealed with that holy Spirit'' of promise
(PARSING: You heard & BELIEVED about Jesus sin atoning payment & resurrection. Then (Matt 3:11, Mk 1:8, Lk 3:16) by Jesus, you were <PAST TENSE > SEALED with God's promised Gift of His FOREVER (Jn 14:16) SALVATION SEALING (Eph 1:13-14, 4:30, 2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, 2 Tim 1:14) indwelling Holy Spirit.

Rom 10:
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of FAITH, which we preach;

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou SHALT be SAVED. 1 Cor 15:
(PARSING Confess Jesus as Lord, BELIEVE He was Raised from the dead. For with the heart man BELIEVES unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Heb 9:22 In fact under the Law almost everything is cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness [neither release from sin and its guilt, nor cancellation of the merited punishment].
(MY NOTE: WATER BAPTISM doesn't/can't remit/pardon sin. Repentance doesn't/can't remit/pardon sin. Only FAITH in Jesus sin atoning BLOOD sacrifice/death & resurrection)

Eph 2:8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you HAVE BEEN SAVED [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through FAITH. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;
(MY NOTE: Salvation is accessed by GRACE thru FAITH.

9 not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].
(MY NOTE: No SELF-WORKS needed or ALLOWED!)

All thanksgiving, praise, glory & honor belongs to Christ our Lord!

PAUL’S WARNING TO THE SAINTS IN EPHESUS WHO HAVE BEEN SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

“So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. But you did not learn Christ in this way, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. Therefore, laying aside falsehood, speak truth each one of you with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity. He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need. Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬-‭32‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

He continues in the beginning of the next chapter.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints; and there must be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Why must immorality or any impurity or greed not be named among them?

For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience

The Mosaic law covenant required works in order to access God's blessings (Deut 28:1-14) Curses were levied for non-compliance (Deut 28:15-68) This covenant was cut with the blood of animals (Heb 9:18-20).

A sinless Jesus flawlessly/faithfully kept Mosaic laws, preached, taught & ultimately fulfilled all the laws requirements. Most specifically it's wage for sin/DEATH. His mission was ONLY to ISRAEL (Matt 15:24), the CIRCUMCISION/JEWS ONLY (Rom 15:8 ). To redeem those that were under the Law/ISRAEL (Gal 4:4-5), from sin's required wage/DEATH (Rom 6:23 )

Jesus willingly (Matt 26:53) becomes sin (2 Cor 5:21) & a curse (Gal 3:13-14) offering Himself as sins atonement, paying for Adam's fall (Rom 5:18-21).

Jesus sacrificial death retires the Mosaic law covenant. (Matt 27:51 & Heb 9:14-17)

Jesus cuts the new BETTER sin management covenant with: His sinless, ONCE for ALL TIME (Hed 9:28, 10:10), perpetually cleansing God Blood offering. He takes & places it in the Heavenly tabernacle, in the presents of the Father (Heb 9:24).

Read from the old to new here: Hebrews 9 amp - Read the Amplified© Bible Online - Free AMP Bible - SermonCentral.com

The people that live in the red print & promote a law & grace covenant mixture. Are free to believe & promote whatever they choose.

It's interesting these same people that try to place others/everyone under an OBSOLETE (Heb 8:13) law covenant. Don't keep the red print words they aimlessly post.

They haven't sold everything they own, Jesus said to (Matt 19:21). They don't keep the Sabbath as required by Mosaic law. Not one person reading this keeps the Sabbath as required by Mosaic law. Claim you do & I'll show you, YOU DON'T (break one you break um all (Ja 2:10)

BTW, red print dwellers, ALL scripture is God breathed (2 Tim 3:16).

The more focus is placed on sin, the more the law will magnify & condemn, everyone they continue trying to put under it.

Love GIVES: God so LOVED, He GAVE His Son (Jn 3:16)

The Law DAMANDS! (Deut 28)

Grace SUPPLIES:
Tit 2:11 For the [remarkable, undeserved] grace of God that [a]brings salvation has appeared to all men.
(MY NOTE: Christ & His finished sacrificial work supplies salvation)

Grace is a GIFT received thru FAITH: Rom 3:24, 4:16, 5:1-2, 15, 11:6, Eph 2:5 & 8. GIFTS is given not worked for/earned!

Eph 3:
20 Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us,
(MY NOTE: His supply is limitless!)

Phil 4:19 And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus
(MY NOTE: He liberally supplies)

2 Cor 9:8 And God is able to make all grace [every favor and earthly blessing] come in abundance to you, so that you may always [under all circumstances, regardless of the need] have complete sufficiency in everything [being completely self-sufficient in Him], and have an abundance for every good work and act of charity.
(MY NOTE: His supply is abundant in all circumstances, regardless of the need).

Faith ACCESSES/TAKES! Rom 5:1-2, Eph 2:8.

The Risen (RED PRINT) Lord Jesus (Acts 26:15-18), gives Paul by direct revelation (Gal 1:12). Christ's gospel of God's GRACE (Acts 20:24)

Grace isn't a license to sin. It's the POWER of God to overcome sin
Rom 1:
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation [from His wrath and punishment] to everyone who believes [in Christ as Savior], to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith [disclosed in a way that awakens more faith]. As it is written and forever remains written, “THE JUST and UPRIGHT SHALL LIVE BY FAITH.”

Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Eph 2:
8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you HAVE BEEN SAVED [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through FAITH. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;
(MY NOTE: Salvation is accessed by GRACE thru FAITH.

9 not as a result of [your] works [nor your attempts to keep the Law], so that no one will [be able to] boast or take credit in any way [for his salvation].
(MY NOTE No SELF-WORKS needed or ALLOWED!)

Gal 2:21“I do not ignore or nullify the [gracious gift of the] grace of God [His amazing, unmerited favor], for if righteousness comes through [observing] the Law, then Christ died needlessly. [His suffering and death would have had no purpose whatsoever.]”

Romans 11:6 But if it is by grace [God’s unmerited favor], it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace [it would not be a gift but a reward for works].

The notion what Jesus endured, He became a curse (Gal 3:13) He became sin (2 Cor 5:21) taking ALL SINS DUE/REQUIRED JUDGMENT, His face was beaten beyond recognition (Isa 52:14) All His back flesh removed by cata 9 tails, spit on, publicly stripped nude, nailed to a cross etc.

RUN from these SELF-WORKS covenant mixers. That claim what Jesus suffered just wasn't quite enough. And He needs their Cain like SELF-WORKS added & Implemented to complete a sin redemption work that Jesus proclaimed IS FINISHED.

All thanksgiving, praise, glory & honor belongs to Christ our Lord!

@BrotherJJ I am not seeing any distinction between "works of the law" required in the O.T. and the works resulting from faith in the N.T.
James 2:17
(17) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:18
(18) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:20
(20) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:24
(24) Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
James 2:26
(26) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Heb 11:8 By FAITH Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words [ A-2,Noun,G1345, dikaioma ] - Justification, Justifier, Justify

has three distinct meanings, and seems best described comprehensively as "a concrete expression of righteousness;" it is a declaration that a person or thing is righteous, and hence, broadly speaking, it represents the expression and effect of dikaiosis (No. 1). It signifies
(a) "an ordinance," Luke 1:6; Romans 1:32, RV, "ordinance," i.e., what God has declared to be right, referring to His decree of retribution (AV, "judgment"); Romans 2:26, RV, "ordinances of the Law" (i.e., righteous requirements enjoined by the Law); so Romans 8:4, "ordinance of the Law," i.e., collectively, the precepts of the Law, all that it demands as right; in Hebrews 9:1, Hebrews 9:10, ordinances connected with the tabernacle ritual;
(b) "a sentence of acquittal," by which God acquits men of their guilt, on the conditions

(1) of His grace in Christ, through His expiatory sacrifice,

(2) the acceptance of Christ by faith, Romans 5:16;
(c) "a righteous act," Romans 5:18, "(through one) act of righteousness," RV, not the act of "justification," nor the righteous character of Christ (as suggested by the AV: dikaioma does not signify character, as does dikaiosune, righteousness), but the death of Christ, as an act accomplished consistently with God's character and counsels; this is clear as being in antithesis to the "one trespass" in the preceding statement. Some take the word here as meaning a decree of righteousness, as in Romans 5:16; the death of Christ could indeed be regarded as fulfilling such a decree, but as the Apostle's argument proceeds, the word, as is frequently the case, passes from one shade of meaning to another, and here stands not for a decree, but an act; so in Revelation 15:4, RV, "righteous acts" (AV, "judgments"), and Revelation 19:8, "righteous acts (of the saints)" (AV, "righteousness").

(PARSING VINE'S Context Greek word dikaioma N ,G1345: It has 3 distinct meanings;
(A) An ordinance/law decree, that God has declared, "a concrete expression of righteousness;" A sovereign Creator God's ""declaration of a persons righteousness"".

(B) A full sin pardon," by which God acquits men of their guilt, on the conditions: (1) of His grace in Christ, through His expiatory sacrifice, (2) the acceptance of Christ by FAITH, Romans 5:16;

(c) Not the act of justification granted/pronounced by Christ. But, through one act of righteousness done by Christ (Rom 5:18). Christ' death, by one act of righteousness accomplishing the counsel of God. This righteous act supersedes Adams sin. Fulfilling the laws decree/requirement for sin/DEATH. Christ is the Lord our Righteousness. (Jer 23:6)

Rom 3:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time ""his righteousness"": ""that he might be just"", ""and the justifier"" ""of him which believeth in Jesus"".
SALVATION/JUSTIFICATION comes is accessed by FAITH placed in Jesus RIGHTEOUS sacrificial (God blood) sin atoning work. When any person places their FAITH in Jesus work. Jesus the JUSTIFIER pronounces the believer RIGHTEOUS/ETERNALLY SAVED. Amen

I have never seen anything like the whole thread and all notifications disappear before.
Yeah me either. I’m guessing there was a problem with the OP if they took down the whole thread.

The Mosaic law covenant required works in order to access God's blessings (Deut 28:1-14) Curses were levied for non-compliance (Deut 28:15-68)

To redeem those (ISRAEL) that were under the Law (Gal 4:4-5). From sin's required wage/DEATH (Rom 6:23 )

Heb 9:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
(MY NOTE: By the MEANS of DEATH! He becomes the mediator of the new testament! And the REDEEMER of TRANSGRESSIONS)

16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
(MY NOTE: No DEATH, NO NEW TESTAMENT!)

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
(MY NOTE: Until Jesus dies, the Old Mosaic law covenant "ISRAEL ONLY" remains in FULL FORCE. Jesus is the testator!)

While Jesus is alive, HOW? Can He be preaching the new testament? He hasn't died & his death & resurrection isn't part of the gospel of the kingdom message. That He & John the Baptist preached!

Even though He told the 12 He would suffer & die. They didn't UNDERSTAND! (Mark 9:31-4, Lk 18:33-34, Luke 9:44-45)

John 20:9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

John 12:16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.
(MY NOTE: After His RESURRECTION the Holy Spirit recalls/reminds them of teaching they didn't understand)

The Sermon on the Mt is to ISRAEL about Israel's long promised kingdom (still coming) where their Messiah will rule & reign (the whole world) from Jerusalem.

Finally:
Jn 7:
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.
(MY NOTE: Jesus hasn't died so the New Testament eternal life giving Holy Spirit (Christ-IN-You) hasn't happened. It happens Acts 2 on Pentecost 50 days AFTER Jesus resurrection. And the message remains ALL JEWISH/ISRAEL ONLY, for another 7 years.) Read Acts 11:19 below

Acts 11:19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
(MY NOTE: It's 6 years after Jesus death & resurrection. Jewish converts that fled Israel. Running for their lives from law zealots like Saul. They are still sharing Christ with other JEWS ONLY!).

It's 7 years until the Acts 10 event, where gentiles receive the eternal life giving Holy Spirit by FAITH ALONE! No H2O 1st, it comes after they have received Christ' Salvation sealing (Eph 1:13-14, 4:30, 2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, 2 Tim 1:14) FOREVER INDWELLING (Jn 14:16) Holy Spirit.

The covenants: law & grace are separated at Jesus death & resurrection.

John & Jesus kingdom message repent & be baptized isn't the message for anyone today.

The Risen Lord Jesus (Acts 26:15-18), gives Paul by direct revelation (Gal 1:12). Christ's gospel of God's GRACE (Acts 20:24)

Eph 3:2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:

The message for everyone today is:

PARSING:
Vs 1, ""The good news of SALVATION"" preached to you, ""which you accepted by FAITH"". )

Then (Matt 3:11, Mk 1:8, Lk 3:16) by Jesus, you were <PAST TENSE > SEALED with God's promised Gift of His FOREVER (Jn 14:16) SALVATION SEALING (Eph 1:13-14, 4:30, 2 Cor 1:22, 5:5, 2 Tim 1:14) indwelling Eternal Life Giving Holy Spirit.

Rom 10:
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of FAITH, which we preach;

Eph 2:8 For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you HAVE BEEN SAVED [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through FAITH. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [not through your own effort], but it is the [undeserved, gracious] gift of God;
(MY NOTE: Salvation is accessed by GRACE thru FAITH.

9And recognizing the grace [that God had] bestowed on me, James and Cephas (Peter) and John, who were reputed to be pillars [of the Jerusalem church], gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, so that we could go to the Gentiles [with their blessing] and they to the circumcised (Jews).
(MY NOTE: NO self-works needed or allowed. To include H2O, enduring, abiding etc. Christ has REDEEMED every believer & nothing can snatch them away from El Shaddai/God Almighty.) AMEN!

Rom 5:
1 Therefore, since we have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God] by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed).

2 Through Him we also have access by faith into this [remarkable state of] grace in which we [firmly and safely and securely] stand. Let us rejoice in our hope and the confident assurance of [experiencing and enjoying] the glory of [our great] God [the manifestation of His excellence and power].
(MY NOTE: Vs 1, Justified/acquitted of sin & declared blameless before God by FAITH. Vs 2, We access God's GRACE thru FAITH.

The Mosaic law covenant required works in order to access God's blessings (Deut 28:1-14) Curses were levied for non-compliance (Deut 28:15-68)

To redeem those (ISRAEL) that were under the Law (Gal 4:4-5). From sin's required wage/DEATH (Rom 6:23 )
Jesus didn’t preach the mosaic law. He preached the moral law same as Paul did but not the mosaic law.
While Jesus is alive, HOW? Can He be preaching the new testament? He hasn't died & his death & resurrection isn't part of the gospel of the kingdom message. That He & John the Baptist preached!
Simple by prophesying of what was to come. Do you know what is THE MOST POPULAR grace gospel verse known to all Christianity is? John 3:16 spoken by Jesus Christ Himself.

“He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

There’s no mosaic law here. Can you quote where Jesus told people to keep the mosaic law in order to be saved?
The covenants: law & grace are separated at Jesus death & resurrection.
The law was never intended to save anyone. Salvation has always been the result of faith, that’s never changed.
John & Jesus kingdom message repent & be baptized isn't the message for anyone today.
While I do agree that baptism isn’t necessary for salvation Paul also baptized 12 men in Acts 19 because they had not received the Holy Spirit. So Paul wasn’t opposed to water baptism.
The message for everyone today is:

4 and that He was buried, and that He was [bodily] raised on the third day according to [that which] the Scriptures [foretold],
Paul also taught the necessity of obedience. I’ve shown you this several times in Ephesians 5:1-6.
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou SHALT be SAVED. 1 Cor 15:
Paul was quoting Jesus when he said that. So that was Jesus’ teaching that Paul was preaching.

““And I say to you, everyone who confesses Me before men, the Son of Man will confess him also before the angels of God; but he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭12‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

Paul also told Timothy that if they were to deny Christ that Christ would deny them in 2 Timothy 2:12.
Peter also preached to gentiles in Antioch where Paul rebuked him, he also helped to plant the churches in Rome & Alexandria.
(MY NOTE: NO self-works needed or allowed. To include H2O, enduring, abiding etc. Christ has REDEEMED every believer & nothing can snatch them away from El Shaddai/God Almighty.) AMEN!
Even Paul taught the necessity of abiding in Christ and enduring to the end. Colossians 1:22-23 and Romans 11:17-24

Rom 3:
21 But now the righteousness of God has been clearly revealed [independently and completely] apart from the Law, though it is [actually] confirmed by the Law and the [words and writings of the] Prophets.
(MY NOTE: The righteousness of God is clearly revealed independently & completely apart from the Law. The law & prophets pointed to HIM)

22 This righteousness of God comes through faith in Jesus Christ for all those [Jew or Gentile] who believe [and trust in Him and acknowledge Him as God’s Son]. There is no distinction,
(MY NOTE: Righteousness comes through faith placed in Jesus sin atoning work. Not thru our self-works of anykind)

23 since all have sinned and continually fall short of the glory of God,

24 and are being justified [declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God, and granted eternal life] as a gift by His [precious, undeserved] grace, through the redemption [the payment for our sin] which is [provided] in Christ Jesus,
(MY NOTE: Believers in Jesus sin atoning work are declared free of the guilt of sin, made acceptable to God & granted eternal life via the Fathers GIFT of grace)

25 whom God displayed publicly [before the eyes of the world] as a [life-giving] sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation (propitiation) by His blood [to be received] through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness [which demands punishment for sin], because in His forbearance [His deliberate restraint] He passed over the sins previously committed [before Jesus’ crucifixion].

26 It was to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus [and rely confidently on Him as Savior].

27 Then what becomes of [our] boasting? It is excluded [entirely ruled out, banished]. On what principle? On [the principle of good] works? No, but on the principle of faith.

28 For we maintain that an individual is justified by faith distinctly apart from works of the Law [the observance of which has nothing to do with justification, that is, being declared free of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God].
(MY NOTE: Believers in Jesus sin atoning work are justified/declared righteous & made acceptable to the Father. Through faith distinctly apart from works of the Law!)
Jesus said "go and sin no more"...

Justification/Salvation comes/is accessed through Faith!

Find verifiable Greek to English translators definition below/

Rom 3:28 Therefore """we conclude that a man is JUSTIFIED by FAITH without the deeds of the law""".

Rom 5:1 Therefore being JUSTIFIED by FAITH, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be JUSTIFIED by FAITH.

Rom 3:30 Seeing it is one """God, which shall JUSTIFY the circumcision by FAITH, and uncircumcision through FAITH.

Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that JUSTIFIETH the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness.

Gal 3:8 And the scripture, """foreseeing that God would JUSTIFY the heathen through FAITH""", preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

Gal 2:16 Knowing that a """MAN is NOT JUSTIFIED by the works of the law""", but by the FAITH of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be JUSTIFIED by the FAITH of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words[ B-1,Verb,G1344, dikaioo ] - Justification, Justifier, Justify

PARSING VINE'S Greek word dikaioo V, G1344: Jesus sin atoning death is the complete required fulfillment of the law of God. Proved to be accepted by His resurrection. And now the Father has made Him. JSTFIER (Rom 3:26). Of ALL that seek redemption thru FAITH placed in His FINISHED sin atoning work.

Justification is a legal, formal pronouncement by God/JUDGE rendering a FULL sin pardon, NEVER to be adjudicated AGAIN. Christ received sins judgment, paying the sentence for the crime/SIN.

PAY ATTENTION HERE! In Romans 3:24 (cited in the OP) Being justified is in the """present continuous tense""" """indicating the constant process of justification"""! Of those who believe & have been/are (right now) JUSTIFIED!

In Romans 5:1, being justified, """is in the aorist, or point, tense, indicating the definite time at which each person, upon the exercise of faith, was <DONE DEAL/FINISHED TRANSACTION> justified!

In Romans 8:1, Justification, ""is presented as NO condemnation/judgment due." That "justification" is in view here is confirmed by the preceding chapters and by verse Romans 3:34. In Romans 3:26, the word rendered JUSTIFIER """is the PRESENT PARTICIPLE of the verb""". DONE DEAL/FINISHED TRANSACTION!
