Just for final clarification yes, we evolved from monkeys.

A church is just as much evidence for God, as a footprint in the sand is evidence for a foot.

Trees, mountains, clouds, and puppies, those are the handiwork of God.

But churches and calendars are the handiwork of men, and are therefore not evidence of God, but of man's desire to play God.

In other words, if they keep their mouths shut, and not defend their faith like they're supposed to, you just might believe them?

Around my house there are several signs and placards, all with the same admonition, "Preach the Gospel every day... if necessary use words"

All of your words tell me nothing, except that you're absolutely and arrogantly certain that you're right... was that the point that you were trying to get across? If so congratulations... job well done.

And who "played God" when John the Baptist was in prison and sent two of his disciples to Jesus?

Luke 7:19 And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
20 When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?
21 And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.
22 Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.
23 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

I do not believe you are a Christian.

If you're willing to be moderated to tell me what you think of me, I congratulate your candor.

And I hope no action is taken by the staff for it.

it’s how you express

Read Post 1261.

I'm not even supposed to be using words, unless it's absolutely necessary!

LOL -- on an Internet forum!

And for the record, I don't consider posting a list of twelve items of cause-and-effect for the existence of God as expressing myself in an unChristian manner.

The common ancestor of modern monkeys and humans would also be called a monkey.

The genetic pattern between monkeys, humans and the other apes shows the patterns of being a family of cousins and not just some reused parts in independent design.

What i find fascinating is the design for all mammals on the planet to have seven cervical vertebrae, except for two, sloths and manatees.

Monkeys definitely evolved from orchids.

With all due respect, and I mean this in no harshness or meanness,The idea of mindless, poop throwing,moral-lacking,but slightly intelligent apes slowly becoming the most sophisticated and advanced species of life on the planet is preposterous and utterly absurd,it makes absolutely no sense that the universe eventually decided to make itself, and from inanimate matter to become animate then eventually change from single felled organisms to multi-celled creatures, then from reptiles and amphibians to birds and mammals,it makes absolutely no sense.

So I say it’s impossible because there are so many points arrogantly bypassed by using outrageous explanations that really go out onto limbs to defend.

Monkey≠homosaipen≠Neanderthal≠Human

But monkeys do deserve some credit for being funny and entertaining, chimps are quite funny and monkeys are as well.

An argument from incredulity at its finest.

But you're welcome to it.

I see this all the time, it's become one of those knee jerk responses, but we did infact evolve from monkeys if evolution is true.

This may seem pedantic, but by definition the common ancestor between monkeys and humans was infact a monkey, we would call it a monkey if we saw it today, it would fit all the criteria for being a monkey. it wasn't a modern one, but it was still a monkey.

The split from monkeys happened after new world and old world monkeys split, so humans are descended from old world monkeys wich would make our ancestors monkeys.

Not monkeys - chimpanzees. Actually, there used to be four species of humans on Earth. Then there were only Neanderthals. Homo sapiens, who are bigger, stronger, and more capable of traveling long distances, married Neanderthals into extinction after a long overlap. You may have Neanderthal ancestors if your biological family originated in Africa or the Middle East, but I can assure you no homo sapiens came from monkeys and the chimpanzee link is one common ancestor for all hominids. One common ancestor led to the creation of various species - bonobos, monkeys, gorillas, chimpanzees, etc. - and homo sapiens happens to be the last remaining of all humans in that taxa, now that neanderthalis is extinct.

Homo sapiens were taller, certainly, but I'm not sure they were stronger than Neanderthals.

Most people have some Neanderthal ancestors... I think it's only some African ethnicities who miss out entirely.

Can you point out a specific problem?

There are multiple lines of evidence leading to the conclusion of common ancestry.

Neanderthals never made it to the Western Hemisphere. Homo sapiens were able to do that because of their greater ability to travel - which, I assume, requires having more lower body strength for people who did not have equine companions. (Remember this was before tires and boats existed.) I learned this stuff in a room at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum called Human History, which tells the story of hominid evolution, from the extinct chimps that the first humans originated from to why only one human species remains today.
