Just for final clarification yes, we evolved from monkeys.

You don't wanna know, and it may be a little off-topic.

But for the record:

Not monkeys - chimpanzees. Actually, there used to be four species of humans on Earth. Then there were only Neanderthals. Homo sapiens, who are bigger, stronger, and more capable of traveling long distances, married Neanderthals into extinction after a long overlap. You may have Neanderthal ancestors if your biological family originated in Africa or the Middle East, but I can assure you no homo sapiens came from monkeys and the chimpanzee link is one common ancestor for all hominids. One common ancestor led to the creation of various species - bonobos, monkeys, gorillas, chimpanzees, etc. - and homo sapiens happens to be the last remaining of all humans in that taxa, now that neanderthalis is extinct.
Um...maybe work on your paleontology a bit.
Some of that is painful to,read.

With all due respect, and I mean this in no harshness or meanness,The idea of mindless, poop throwing,moral-lacking,but slightly intelligent apes slowly becoming the most sophisticated and advanced species of life on the planet is preposterous and utterly absurd,it makes absolutely no sense that the universe eventually decided to make itself, and from inanimate matter to become animate then eventually change from single felled organisms to multi-celled creatures, then from reptiles and amphibians to birds and mammals,it makes absolutely no sense.

So I say it’s impossible because there are so many points arrogantly bypassed by using outrageous explanations that really go out onto limbs to defend.

Monkey≠homosaipen≠Neanderthal≠Human

But monkeys do deserve some credit for being funny and entertaining, chimps are quite funny and monkeys are as well.
This would be funny if intended as a
parody of creationist thinking.
As is , it's just kind of sad.

With all due respect Estir, it’s sad anyone can believe evolution and think they’re a meaningless pile of cells living a purposeless life.that’s very sad my friend

A little late to the game here, but I don't see how any Christian can believe or endorse the thought/suggestion/assertion that we started out as monkeys.
Me neither. That didn't happen. You have to be careful in trying to ridicule a process that you have just exhibited that you don't understand.

They're not mindless, and have morals. The love and wonder in amazement like humans really.

Sad this girl spent her life in cage, never saw the sun. Her expression in seeing the sun was priceless, certainly she was joyful.

Yes,it is amazing!

But, why believe we, like said aforementioned, “evolved” from these creatures.

Like said before, this piece is apart of the entire out-on-a-limb theory that life “spawned” from inanimate matter.

Personally I firmly believe the fossils of half human/half ape skulls and skeletons found that are frequently used to defend evolution are simply ancient skeletons of severely birth-defected humans. Not “missing links” nor common ancestors.

Take microcephaly for example,it’s a rare birth condition that shrinks the skull size, could there perhaps be other illnesses that in times past have done the same if not the opposite?,very likely.

In hindsight with that said,it looks like an atheists desperate attempt to explain and defend evolution.

Sometimes, I despair.
Multiple forms of physical evidence mainly.

Do you think I think that my family is just meaningless piles of cells and that they have no meaning to me? What a monstrously ridiculous things to suggest.

You seem to be confusing abiogenesis with evolution. You should study the difference between the two.

Except that is not consistent with the evidence.

The genetic evidence from modern humans and other modern animals and extinct non human hominids lines up with the fossil evidence for humanity being a part of a family with the rest of life.

With interpretations by humans which said humans, rightly so, confirm are not infallible.
Do you have an alternative that does not require the interpretation by fallible humans?

Every item held by faith and written and read piece of scripture is also interpreted and presented by humans.

The very strange thing about this attitude is that there are more Christians who accept evolution than atheists of all types in the USA.

Also the kind of nihilistic interpretation you describe isn't even particularly common among atheists... most have multitudes of loves and beliefs about value of themselves and others in the world.

Good question and fair!

No; I am admittedly bias towards the word of God and there is no room for evolutionary theory there, IMO.

However, I did formally study biology and neuroscience and evolution is definitely viewed as an archaic theory which has been mostly debunked by modern science for a variety of reasons. I could show you lots of alternate theories but the research I came across is behind paywalls which I had access to during active study and of which I am no longer apart of.

I see this all the time, it's become one of those knee jerk responses, but we did infact evolve from monkeys if evolution is true.

This may seem pedantic, but by definition the common ancestor between monkeys and humans was infact a monkey, we would call it a monkey if we saw it today, it would fit all the criteria for being a monkey. it wasn't a modern one, but it was still a monkey.

The split from monkeys happened after new world and old world monkeys split, so humans are descended from old world monkeys wich would make our ancestors monkeys.

Nope, we didnt evolve from monkeys.

We are made in the image of God.
