Thank you for the sermon. I agree. But I'll add this...an Optomist is grateful for what they have, does not expect more and can take the direst of trials and gleen the good out of it. An optomist in fact chooses to see good in anything and everything. Optomism is hope.stillsmallvoice said:Hi all!
Wisdom Seeker complimented me (thank you!) in being an optimist. We've all heard the old saying that an optimist see the glass as half-full while a pessimist sees it as half-empty. Did you ever wonder why this is?
I once heard Rabbi David Rosen (http://www.jewishaustralia.com/rabbidavidrosenbio.htm), who is very involved in interfaith issues, explain it. He explained as follows: The pessimist lives an ideal world. He sees things not as they are but rather as he thinks they should be. He cannot help but be disappointed by the fact that the glass is not full; his outlook for the future is negative because whatever exists in reality will never be able to match his ideal vision. Thus, he sees the glass as half-empty. The optimist, on the other hand, is a realist. He sees things as they are. He cannot help but be pleased that the glass is no longer empty; his outlook for the future is positive because he remembers when the glass was empty, notes the progress that has been made since then, and is confident of further progress. Thus, he sees the glass as half-full.
I'm an optimist!
...Wisdom Seeker, do worship services at your church involve clapping, singing, dancing, etc.?

I choose to believe that a focus on God is much more important than what club you can say you belong to. And that is all too often what denominationalism turns into.
Glad you could stop in. It's always a pleasure to fellowship with you.
I haven't read that book. I'll have to put it on my list. I love to read. Our UMW (United Methodist Women) have a reading plan and you get certificates after 4, 10, 15 & 20 books in a year. I got 4 books Thursday and have read 2 1/2 already. This last one I'm reading is fiction called "Dana's Valley" by Janette Oke and Laurel Oke Logan. Wow, it's good. I just started it this afternoon after our spamfest in Emma's drive by.mle said:Dsdumpling
Your signature reminds me of Deadline. Have you read it? I think you would like it if you haven't.
