Hi all!

Freespirit2001, thank you for your kind words! You posted (inter alia):

I am a housekeeper..... for some very wealthy estates here on the Eastern shore of Maryland---on the Chesapeake Bay...

My, but it is a small world! I spent four summers and an autumn (back in my pre-kosher days) working at Phillips Crab House in Ocean City, Md.! I went to GWU in DC from 1981-1985 & spent the 1982, '83, 84' and '85 summers (and the fall of 1985) at the Crab House. I must have driven back-and-forth from OC to DC on US Route #50 and through Delaware a hundred times! In 1982, I was a fry cook. In '83 and '84, I was a barback & in 1985 I was a bartender. In 1985, I stayed in OC through the end of October (I stayed with a friend in Salisbury when hurricane Gloria came to call) when the Crab House closes for the winter. I love the Maryland Eastern Shore! Ah, the memories! There is nothing more therapeutically head-clearing than being in a bustling seaside resort after the summer season is over. I am convinced that that period helped clear my head & lay the sub-conscious groundwork for my bolt-out-of-the-blue decision (see Song of Songs 5:2, "I was asleep but my heart was awake") to incorporate God into my daily life, become observant & actively embrace my Jewish faith (see http://www.christianforums.com/showthread.php?p=835902&highlight=Fiddler#post835902).

One of my very favorite Hebrew songs is "Jerusalem of Gold" or Yerushalayim shel zahav. See http://www.jerusalemofgold.co.il/. Click on http://www.coseti.org/www.oldsynagogues.org/jerusalem.htm & when the page is done loading, you'll hear the melody.

Be well!

My daughter works in OC, it's about 20 miles from my house. Pretty cool. I live in Delaware.

I wanted to tell you something a couple days ago but I forgot! My Mom works as a viatamin store manager. They have a lady that works at the store who has fibromialgia. She was having a really hard time for a long time because she could not sleep due to the pain she felt at night. She went on the internet looking for help and information on how to deal with the pain and sleeplessness. She found a product called Macca root. She gave it a try and she has noticed a huge improvement. After a few days of taking Macca root she was sleeping at night and now she no longer has the pain she once had. Now the store is carrying the product and it's becoming very popular due to all the positve testimonies from people who use it.

Oh thank you so much MLE. I've been taking Calcium to relax my muscles and help me sleep. And I occasionally take Valerian Root to help me sleep too. The Valerian root works really well, but it tends to give me very intense dreams. I heard also that Kava Kava is good for sleep...but I don't recommend it. Apparently it has some toxic side effects. (and it personally makes me feel nausiated) I will look for Macca Root the next time I go to the Vitamin store. (too bad I didn't know about this yesterday. Wouldn't you know it? I was just there. :sigh: )

I'm also exercising for the pain. It has helped a lot. Today, I am not going to run or go to the gym though. I have a severe headache. My Lupus plays havoc with my digestive system. I think it was the chocolate I ate yesterday. I was pretty good about everything else I ate...but I always forget that sugar is poison to me. (in case people don't see the connection...all of my headaches are a result of my auto immune system messing with my digestion and lymph glands....which is usually a precursor for my breaking out in hives, my hair falling out, and other things that I don't even want to talk about.)

Blah, Blah, Blah...I can't believe I've just gone on this much about my health. I don't usually talk about it. Sure, I talk about nutrition and exercise. But my personal health problems? Bah! :D

Those are cool aspirations. I have always wanted to be the captain of a ship and sail the world! I don't think it will happen though. I'm a mom and if we are going to pay for someone in our family to go to school it will be the kids or my husband who wants to get a degree in computer science when he gets tired of graphic design. I dream of becoming more like Jesus and seeing the success of my marriage and family. My dreams are seeing my hubands dreams come true. I dream of going camping next summer. I dream of home schooling my kids. Hmm what else? I guess, I also dream of having a pottery studio at home.

Oh yeah...be afraid...be very afraid. :D People crack me up. :D

Theresa, I hope you get the job. Please keep us updated.

Thank you for praying for me DQlover2003. You are the most generous person that I've met on this site. (no offense to anyone...but she has such a big heart)

MLE, It's good to dream. Dreams don't cost a thing.

SSV, Lbiagm, dsdumpling....how are you all doing?

My mother, sister and 4 year old neice came over for a visit yesterday. I love it when my family is with me. It's about the only place where I feel completely free to be exactly who I am...without any repercussions. Not to mention....they are the most spiritual people I know...and they can make me laugh so hard...I cry. Good for the sinus'. :D

Today...busy, busy, busy. I'm just stopping in to take a break...then it's back to the tasks at hand.

Be well, be blessed and be kind to one another. And don't scare any more lurkers! :D ;)

WS, I'm great (or at least it's a good show). Work is still there, thank God there is more to life than work. I wish I had the responsibilities of my teenagers. Is anyone else on a lot of committees at church. I am, phew, I really don't like meetings.

What's everyone getting their honey for Valentine's Day? DH and I are going out to dinner but I don't know what else we'll be doing. I do want to go to Barnes & Noble and browse. Books are a huge part of my life.

I pray you all have a great rest of the day and week. God Bless You!

I used to overextend myself at church with trying to do everything they asked me to help out with. Plus I taught 4 year old children in the Sunday Night service. Plus I was in the 300 voice choir. But I got so stressed out...it started really messing with my walk with Christ. So, I quit everything...including choir. Which still makes me very very sad. But...with my old church...if you didn't do the door to door salesman thing to advertise for the church...you were not allowed to be in a ministry. So...dems the brakes. Actually...it was because of the battle over legalism at my church that led to my not going there anymore. (That and an infraction between a children's worker and my daughter who was 3 at the time)

I don't usually shop at Barnes and Noble...because their in store prices are a little high. (except for the sales table) and they're so crowded. But you do know they have a website don't you Dawn? Books are a big part of my life too. I usually buy from Amazon dot com now. Their prices are really good. (but I get the browse Barnes and Noble thing....it does have a certain.....mmmmm...well, I get it)

I've bought from Amazon too. I've even found out-of-print stuff there that was used. My DH wanted a certain translation of the Bible and I found it there because it's out of print. The one I bought was used but I don't know who used it, the cover wasn't even cracked. Maybe some little old lady that only used it on Sundays.

Maybe it was just something that they took of the shelves in a store? I'm always leary of buying used books. I have bought them..but I prefer to look at them first.

There was this great used book store where I used to live. It is called Duttons. I used to go there all the time...and just browse and browse. (I bought too of course) but they were great.
