I have common sense. I don't have scripture for most of the things I do.Do you have scripture to back up your statement?
sometimes, not always, though I understand your point....Suicide victims often are religious but have mental illnesses that makes their lives miserable. The Devil uses sorrow and mental illnesses to trick people into committing suicide.
Now that is a great question. Are you questioning the accuracy and reliability of the bible?
Praise the Lord for that!! I mean that sincerely.I do not question the accuracy of the Bible though.
In the Greek the word translated as "repented" isn't the usual "metanoia" but "metameletheis" which simply means "to be sorry" or "to regret." There was no repentance for sin. He was just sorry for the result. He expected Jesus to free himself as He had done before. He was looking for a great role in an earthly kingdom and when he saw that was not to be he was "sorry" and went out and hanged himself.I think op meant to quote Matt 27:3&4.
3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
This is where the Christiandom of today is: a perpetual state of coming to the cross: so logically according to this brand of christianity, Judah must have been forgiven, right? Then how else could they justify their teaching?
the bible written by men cannot be totally accurate about everything... it was not meant to be.... it was meant to accurate about one thing, giving us enough information so that we would believe....Praise the Lord for that!! I mean that sincerely.
Are you denying historical facts? We can always revise history to fit you.Are you questioning the accuracy and reliability of the bible?
Lainie,
The humanity of Jesus died on the cross. The divinity did not.

You're welcome--handy having a good Bible program for that very purpose! BibleWorks 7.0DJ,
Great answer thanks for looking up the Greek for us.
God would have freely forgiven Judas, but he did not seek repentance, therefore he was not forgiven.
I have no intention of preventing you from knocking down this latest strawman you have erected. Have at it.I seem to recall the biblical definition of faith is substance of thing hoped for, evidence of things not seen.
I'm interested to see what historical facts you think you have that proves the bible is inaccurate.
What you have is the Relativism, a New Age thinking where is no absolute truth. If the truth is defined by your own understanding or your common sense, then why can't you save yourself.
Is that the best you guys can do? How pitiful.Dl,
I think you are on the right track about the relativism, new age thinking and the no absolute truth theory.

You need to read more closely. The gospels were written decades after the events on which they reported. You can answer your question about Biblical inaccuracy by comparing the gospels. Some arguments are not worth the time.Didn't you say I deny the historical facts and make history fit my believes with regard to biblical accuracy. I was hoping maybe you could enlighten or illuminate me with facts that I have overlooked. Any facts?
