A host of things that don't have to be what you want it to be. Regret, sorrow, etc.

If he were facing the wonderous gift of salvation and the reward of heaven, the in-between stuff wouldn't matter.

I have sorrow and regret over decisions I didn't make or could've made sooner, but I'm certainly glad I was born.

In the Greek the word translated as "repented" isn't the usual "metanoia" but "metameletheis" which simply means "to be sorry" or "to regret." There was no repentance for sin. He was just sorry for the result. He expected Jesus to free himself as He had done before. He was looking for a great role in an earthly kingdom and when he saw that was not to be he was "sorry" and went out and hanged himself.

That's correct DJ--I believe it's the kind of repentance that the bible says needs "to be repented of"!

I am SOOO jealous I'm green. I love animals so much and desire so badly, especially the 'wild' ones to befriend me.

Last year there was a tame deer that would make his rounds over the area I live in. He would come over every few days and I would hand feed him almonds and shredded wheat. He let me pull the ticks off and brush him. Even my cat and him would 'nose' each other. Then one day--he never retuned.

I hope he is ok.
