So to be clear, you would argue against what some here call Total Ability, that man in and of himself can believe the gospel.

They dive into the arminian puddles.
This native and inherent corruption we call Total Depravity, and it takes effect from the time of our conception in the womb (Psalm 51:5, Psalm 58:3).
The result being "there is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins" (Ecclesiastes 7:20 NIV). Indeed, human righteousness is like a "menstrual rag" in God's sight (Isaiah 64:6) !
"There is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10 NKJ)
Hence, while we do have the choice not to sin, we ALWAYS choose to sin !
