I briefly investigated a possible conspiracy, and found a Newsweek article saying the fires were not linked, along with an honestreporting.com article suggesting Newsweek dishonestly implied that they were.

I don't think anyone would go to the trouble to false-flag Notre Dame just to hide a fire that small at Al Aqsa. I don't see any dishonest reporting by Newsweek, however.

By purposely implying there was no link suggests there may have been one. That is usually enough to get the rabble rousing. Why even bother to make the suggestion if not for hidden motive? Well crafted doublespeak. That is most often the purpose. Stir up dissension to self justify actions of a nation. Even the wingnuts who never heard about the mosque fire were already up in arms over the church being surrounded by muslims so the fire was obviously their fault. Fractured thinking by fractured individuals willing to grasp at any straw to prove themselves right..

The point wasn't "These fires are suspicious." the point was a lot of religious buildings were catching fire lately. Some on purpose (the 3 churches in Louisiana) and these two.

I question this. I have yet to hear of a fire burning that does not cause damage. It might of been minor but it was there. Hopefully the restoration effort is less then it will be for Notre Dame.
