No, you have made excuses for them....big difference. "Oh, Hamas will kill their families." So it is better they die from Israeli bombs?
As much as many Gazans fear and distrust Hamas, they fear and distrust the IDF even more. And I can guarantee that if you had been unfortunate enough to have been born in Gaza and found yourself in the same situation Gazans are in today, you wouldn't be turning on Hamas, running to the IDF and pointing tunnel entrances and weapon storage facilities, and warning them of ambushes either, for the very same reasons I gave in my post you quoted.

But you might be trying to find water, food, medicines etc while avoiding bombs and maybe trying to bring up a family in an unsanitary, overcrowded tent city.

Scale of vast tent city in Gaza revealed - with destruction leaving residents little to return to

Since the start of the war, 1.9 million people have been displaced from their homes, according to the UN, and Rafah governorate is now the main refuge for those displaced. Over one million people have been crammed into a growing refugee camp that lies just north of Rafah City.
That's more than the population of Philadelphia.

You have been told repeatedly that the Israeli leadership have stated they want the complete destruction of Gaza and its people and the visible evidence is there to be seen. Please read all of

The brutality and inhumanity of Israel’s assault on Gaza is no surprise. It’s just what was promised | Owen Jones

before replying to this post.
Choosing an individual or individuals angered at the torture, slaughter, and savagery committed against the elderly and babies is hardly a fair and balanced representation of Israeli leadership or Israeli citizens. As a people to me Israel has acted in a more more compassionate manner than have the citizens of Gaza. If the situation was totally reversed, given the statements I have heard it is almost beyond imagination that Gazans would take the same steps to avoid as many Israeli civilian casualties as they could.

Where terrorists hide in luxury homes: A visit to the Qatari-built Hamas stronghold

In one of the buildings, a terrorist used his family members as human shields. The fighters identified a woman and two children raising their hands, with the barrel of the terrorist's gun behind them. The forces managed to eliminate the terrorist, with the woman only lightly injured. "The terrorists are making horrific use of their families here," says Lt. Col. M.

This example is why so many civilians are killed.

Yes the Israeli government has shown its "compassion" since 1948 by killing and wounding far more Palestinians than vice versa since 1948, and more recently since 2000. The article (did you read it?) listed more than one "individual" and included the Israeli Prime Minister, President, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Defence Minister, Heritage Minister, an army major general, a retired major general and advisor to the defence minister and the Knesset deputy speaker - more than one anonymous "individual"!

If Americans Knew - What every American needs to know about Israel/Palestine

Remember each of those 42,448 Palestinians and 2,749 Israelis are human beings made in the image of God, NOT mere statistics. God will judge their murderers.

That's the idea in war, to kill more of the enemy than your own. The men and women of Israel have to be better and braver because they are outnumbered in the region by jihadists. When a jihadist with a weapon cowers behind his wife it's amazing that Israel can save the wife. We should pray for them all. In the long term there needs to be an effort to stop the radicalization of children, the concept of jihad is twisted toward whatever the teachers wish to make it. In the short term Americans need to stop Joe Biden from breaking his promise not to put American boots on the ground. Biden has already killed Palestinians by dropping aid packages on them. This foolish idea of putting a pier up to aid Gaza solves nothing, Hamas will still control the trucks that pick up aid at the pier and will sell the food and water at exorbitant prices to finance themselves, and there is a good possibility Americans there will die. Joe also needs to be stopped from bringing radicalized Palestinians to the United States.

By the end of the first week, media outlets around the world began implicitly blaming Israel for Hamas’s invasion and attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers.

Both The Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press news agency echoed Hamas’s talking points, focusing on visits by Jews during Sukkot to the Temple Mount, crackdowns on Palestinian violence, settlement expansion, the Israeli-Egyptian Gaza blockade, and US-brokered Israeli-Saudi talks on normalization as impetuses for the Hamas attacks. The Washington Post added [to the mix] the establishment of the current Israeli government, as if Israelis had it coming for how they voted.

Oh yeah, an opinion piece really carries a lot of weight. Like a certain part of our anatomy we all have an opinion.
BTW, Israel has declared that the elimination/destruction of HAMAS, not the 'complete destruction of Gaza and its people' is its goal. Try getting your facts straight.
Hopefully we all read our own threads and posts before posting. Note that "reading your own thread" is not the same as agreeing with civilwarbuff. As for "Hamas apologists" that is an insulting assertion presented with zero evidence, but without naming anyone = unnecessarily divisive. One could also say there are many apologists for genocide here but where would that trading of labels get us?
Not worth any effort of a reply.

Then I guess they will continue to die until they get the backbone to do the right thing.

War is not a contest to see which side can kill the most people. The aim of war is to destroy the enemy's military capabilities and create an environment in which they are no longer a treat or can no longer function, and these objectives can be achieved without the mass slaughter of civilians.

Hamas has now murdered more Palestinians than Israelis, they are going to continue killing unless and until eliminated. Netanyahu has had plenty of input and in my opinion is taking the best course.

Unfortunately, the course Netanyahu and the IDF have taken is creating more terrorists than it's killing, and it will lead to even more violence and terror against Israel for at least a generation. Until Israel ends its occupation of Palestinian territories and allows Palestinians the right to self-determination through the creation of a Palestinian state, there will be no peace.

Giving back land was a mistake by Israel, I was against it at the time. Evil is present in the world and there will be more terrorists no matter what Israel does. This has nothing to do with "occupation," it is only an excuse.

It is utterly absurd to say that Israel has tried to avoid civilian deaths - if that were so, they would allow the food trucks into Gaza and the refugees out. This is about death and destruction of an occupied people.

Israel needs to protect against this nonsense, murder and cruel torture. This is done by eliminating those that produce it. Quit the cheerleading of it. That can start when you acknowledge those who do the things these people have done have brought this on themselves. Tell the truth!

Such as gunning down surrendering hostages?

Unfortunately, it is now Israel that is doing the murdering.

Hamas did provoke retaliation, but genocide of all Gazans and a bunch of West Bankers is not a good or acceptable answer.
