Is the fundamental gap between creationists and non-creationists...

I’m not arguing that the Bible is a science book. I was just pointing out that The History of Science is usually more about the general advancements in science and the people who were involved (in that context Bill Gates’ diary might be relevant to the story of the advancement of computers). On that note, I think the Bible has related contributions to science. I know that Leviticus has some far-out things, but Moses (and he gave the credit to God, how would he have known anyway) was right up there with Dr. Fauci and the CDC on quarantining, sanitation, keeping your distance and cleanliness (the washing your hands in running water and everything) regarding the spread of disease. On the other hand, History likes to tell us that scientists and doctors figured all that out by the mid-nineteenth century.
Only true of Western Europe, where medical science remained brutal and ignorant relatively late. The Bible only records the beliefs and practices of its time.

All I’m saying, is don’t discount the Bible when it comes to science, or anything else.

Matthew Maury didn’t... it inspired his work on ocean currents:

“He was nicknamed "Pathfinder of the Seas" and "Father of Modern Oceanography and Naval Meteorology" and later, "Scientist of the Seas" for his extensive works in his books, especially The Physical Geography of the Sea (1855), the first such extensive and comprehensive book on oceanography to be published. Maury made many important new contributions to charting winds and ocean currents, including ocean lanes for passing ships at sea.” Wikipedia

“Maury's seagoing days came to an abrupt end at the age of 33, after a stagecoach accident broke his right leg. Thereafter, he devoted his time to the study of naval meteorology, navigation, charting the winds and currents, seeking the "Paths of the Seas" mentioned in Psalms 8:8 as: "The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas." Maury had known of the Psalms of David since childhood. In A Life of Matthew Fontaine Maury (compiled by his daughter, Diana Fontaine Maury Corbin, 1888), she states:

Matthew's father was very exact in the religious training of his family, now numbering five sons and four daughters, viz., John Minor, Mary, Walker, Matilda, Betsy, Richard Launcelot, Matthew Fontaine, Catherine, and Charles. He would assemble them night and morning to read the Psalter for the day, verse and verse about; and in this way, so familiar did this barefooted boy [M. F. Maury] become with the Psalms of David, that in after life he could cite a quotation, and give chapter and verse, as if he had the Bible open before him. His Bible is depicted on his monument beside his left leg. (See enlarged image on this page)[2]Wikipedia

So Maury was a devout Christian and an oceanographer. Did he get his technical data from the Bible or from the ocean?

And some weird anti science superstitions.
Which we hope l are parts of the apocrypha that
got inadvertently left behind.

Like I said, the Bible inspired his work. He got his technical data from the ocean, where you would expect to find it.

So man evolved over periods of millions of years. But his eyes were...what? Fitted one Tuesday afternoon? What were animals using as they developed, changed, speciated?

How can an organism evolve over time and but have certain aspects of their physical make-up suddenly appear. Be 'created' in effect. Have you thought this through?

You are still making the same false claims. That's not what I said at all.
Then you need to be very specific about what you determine to be a natural process (instigated by God) and one that can be classed as creation. Tell me exactly what you mean so there's no confusion.
