I am in complete awe of our creator when I understand the immense vastness of the universe and the incredible manner in which all matter interacts, especially for the dizzying number of coincidences necessary for our planet to be habitable.
Flat earth cosmologists in comparison, believe in a much lesser god, one who basically just built a container and sealed everything inside.
My God is awesome, and is absolutely worthy of all worship and honour. Their god is rather pathetic in comparison.
Agreed.
Science is the study of God's creation. If God created "the heavens and the earth" - what we now call "the universe", then what is revealed in Scripture and what is revealed in creation will agree.
God thought his creation was good, was very good:
"And God saw that it was good" - Gen 1v10, 12, 18, 25.
"God saw all that he had made, and it was very good" Gen 1v31
Psalm 19 "The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands."
Romans 1:20 "For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse."
As Christians, we have a reason and basis for science. However science cannot answer why we exist or give any purpose for our existence.
A flat earth interpretation of Genesis does not just lead to a lesser creation, it means that the universe around us is deceptive. What we observe is incompatible with the earth being flat. Worse - this implies that God is deceptive.
