• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am beginning to think I am possessed or something. I mean so I have the battles in my head God is real no he isn't. No evidence helps it go away the doubt remains and I start thinking atheists are smarter etc but accompanied with that are these spiteful feelings. The feelings when I think Christians aren't as smart as athiests is what's weird. I have had those same feelings though on a different thing. I mean this is beyond fair. Even a chaplain in asked the chaplain more or less said I was going to hell. I guess I just deserve this I am a very sick person in a evil way so maybe I am just damned. Doesn't seem fair though when I did ask for any if the diseases if the mind I have or doubt or anything. I am starting to get angry anyone has to be this way.

Don't allow anyone to say or even imply that you are demonic. Such creatures aren't friends or even Christians and should be cast out - Get behind me Santan.
You probably have personal issues and stress which is probably causing these problems and thoughts to invade you when your low. Spiritual help can be of enormous befit and will put you on the right path. Please find with care a right caring person to advise you out of this ladyrinth of troubles.
In the meantime, don't lose faith and find your inner strength to fight back. My heart and prayers go out to you.

I am still so confused every single person I have ever spoke to privately on here and that has been four people have said the doubts are not from OCD so why in the world have they been to OCD doctors and are on OCD boards. Chaplains on here are saying I am in trouble. Is it spiritual or OCD? I want concrete proof of heaven and I can't get it. God says we need faith to get to heaven!?!!?

No, OCD is not demonic - it's a psychological condition. You should go and see a good doctor - there's a lot of help widely available for this common disorder. It is very possible that God has given you this cross to bear - this trial, if you will - to mould you into a better person.

Don't forget to ask God for His help and healing and to guide you to someone within the medical field with experience in treating or providing coping stratergies for people with OCD.

I will pray for you.

I have somewhat of an OCD. I feel the compulsion to do something here and there and with the number three. Your situation sounds like quite an elevated case of this. My sister used to have it too and says it can be cured. So there is hope. As far as calling it Demonic that is putting it on a whole new level. Then we could say a bi-polar disorder is demonic, or schizophrenia etc. It is a disorder of the mind and needs to be treated as such. See your GP.

As far as spiritual direction I advise finding one who is very intelligent and compassionate. That combination can form wisdom, which is another word for light.

I just want to know what is going to happen to me after I die. That is why I am in this boat. I started freaking out heaven didn't exist and if that didn't God didn't and I can't get my faith back because I am to scared heaven is not there to believe. People on here tell me my doubts and there doubts aren't/ weren't OCD but I do have it?!?!some people tell me I going to hell some say I am not. I either want to not doubt or not care if there is nothing after this like some people on here. The people who have told me they had OCD but there doubts God existed weren't OCD don't talk to me anymore so I don't get what they are saying.

No one knows what's going to happen to them after they die. Likewise, no one can tell you where you're going to end up when you die. The best thing you can do is just try to live out as good a Christian life as you can, stay close to Christ through prayer, and trust in God's infinite mercy.

Remember, Psalm 9:10 ~ And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.

If you put your trust in Him, He will not abandon you.

As for whether or not you have OCD, that's something to discuss with a medical professional. No one on here is qualified to tell you if you have this disorder or not.

How can I do that when I don't know where I am going. I wonder if in the back of every Christians mind there is a "what if" God is not there but they stifle it because they know they are supposed to have faith but some for whatever reason can't be like that.

Well, I think - at least in my experiences - most Christians go through periods of doubt. But through prayer and reading, you can strengthen your faith. You just have to come before God and be honest - say, God, I am struggling with doubts, help me. And He will.

Been doubting for over a year. I know someone on here who has always doubted since they were saved for like twelve years. No amount if evidence suffices though because I am so scared heaven doesn't exist I just can't get enough prove but I think it is possible he does exist so my faith doesn't totally disappear but I fear I will be sent to hell for doubting. I don't want to doubt I want to be saved. I feel like maybe God isn't allowing me to be saved because if he was I wouldn't doubt, that or he isn't there. I have been told my doubt is from OCD, my fear of the doubt is the OCD not the doubt itself, that God is merciful, that total faith is needed to get into heaven, etc. How the heck do I know who is right? If I am damned or not. I don't get my spiteful feelings I get when I doubt God exists. I really don't like those.

You won't get concrete evidence until your there. But until then;

"You don't have enough faith," Jesus told them. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible."

AND THIS:
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9

Will you do that now? If so, then you are saved. That is how great your God is.

I don't think it matters what the source of the doubt is. Jesus saves us, and it isn't up to us to save ourselves. We trust in what Christ did, not in what we do. You can't make yourself believe enough, all you can do is to put your belief in the right place.
