For Biblical Perspective (that no one in america (only a remnant) seems to seek) >>
Did Israel in the OT EVER pick or choose or demand anything BY VOICE COUNT ? (i.e. not necessarily by counting yea's and ney's , but by SHOUTING/ or 'national' request or majority opinion )

Well, Saul as king had popular acclaim. Also the tax revolt of the Northern Kingdom had popular acclaim.

Wait, those didn't turn out well.

Hmmmmm......

and how about "meat for everybody ? "...... how did that go ?

and how about "we can't obey God" ? ..... how did that go ?
hint: when told to enter the promised land

'majority' voting...... in the Bible, not at all like anyone was taught in the united states of america.
why doesn't anyone teach the truth in the united states of america ?
from the Bible ?

except the remnant ?

I agree,

it's a law, here, and a law there....

that is slowly stripping the Christian of His freedom of Religion.

Just as you need to hire watch guards to protect society and police officers to catch criminals, you need to vote in your choice of candidates every year that elections happen.

If cruz is right, 50% of Christians do not vote.
The media should have challenged Cruz to prove his numbers on that one.

I was blessed to meet a woman today while out shopping. She has a long history of public service in various areas. Our discussion turned toward politics. I told her this will be the first time I won't be voting. That I'm tired of voting in those I don't trust to be president of my country.
She was nearly 80 years old and she admonished me gently, which I loved. She said, you have to vote. You have to. Even if there is no worthy candidate you have to vote. Because if you don't vote it is a minus for you and the nation and a plus for them. Whoever gets into the office. You must vote!
Her choice, because she has voted for as long as she was able to, is a write in. I told her I didn't think our current system in our state would allow that. Sure it does, she said. Go to the Department of Elections. Tell them you want an early vote write in.
I share that to help others here who may not know about that option still being available. When I tried to do a write in last election my pen had decided to not work. I asked the attendant at the tables for one. She looked at me as if I'd just spoken a different language. A pen? The confused look was scary to tell you the truth. I said yes, I'd like to write in a candidate. She remained wide eyed and open mouthed while the woman beside her handed me one.

The choice come November for the dear lady I talked to today? Jesus Christ! She's already put in her early vote and that's the candidate she chose.
When the liberals are trying to outlaw Christianity and national pride even going so far as to stop the pledge of allegiance being recited in our tax payer supported schools, writing in a vote for the Christ the left is trying to erase from our culture is ideal.
I am voting this year! Yeshua has my vote. But I'll write in Jesus Christ because when a Department of Elections volunteer is stupefied by a request for an ink pen, the Hebrew name for our Savior may cause their brain to dissolve.

Yeshua Messiah IS the choice, of course, for the ekklesia and everyone who loves life.

But He , Yeshua Messiah, does not rule in a kingdom OF THIS WORLD.

Those who want to have a knigdom OF THIS WORLD find themselves opposed to JESUS -

The old lady's heart may be like the widow's heart who put in her WHOLE LIFE'S SAVINGS,
and
Jesus pointed her out for her faith in God,
but
remember the SYSTEM crucified JESUS the Messiah and persecuted all His Disciples.

LIkewise today - the system persecutes all who stand up for the truth (not just Jesus' Disciples).

To vote in it, or for it, or with it, (even though the votes have no value in who is put in office)
might possibly be
not sinful for the pure in heart, like the old lady or the widow....

but for someone who puts their trust in the system, they have already failed. (like Jesus told His disciples directly.)

While I think you have a good heart in writing that I would disagree in one respect. God's dark nemesis rules this world. As we know he roams the planet seeking those souls that he can devour. And often enough it appears he dines on those in power. Be they corporate or government representatives in the highest office on down the tree.

That being said, when it comes time to vote, when we the people speak our choice for that one we believe is worthy of commanding in this country, though we have not a thing to do with seating such a one really, if we write in, in that way SPEAK, the name of the King of the Universe, we let his name resonate even in print and before the eyes of those empowered to tally the votes. And that then will , if there are enough write-in's, perhaps capture the attention of those behind the real curtain of powers and control.

When we are seeing a nation wherein it is becoming a matter of law, written and unspoken, to keep quiet about God the Father and his Son Yeshua the Christ, in not only the secular realm but to also witness the falling away from His truth in the Ekklesia's realm, to speak or write the sacred name of Jesus Christ is to rebel against the effort to mute his name, his word, and his truth in God our Father.

God rules all realms seen and unseen. Reminding the powers that be in this realm that that faithful voter knows that is an act of ministry of God's word. And also rebellion against the agenda of the enemies of God the Father.

I will vote for Jesus Christ in this November election. I will not remain silent. I will always pray. And I will never ever be persuaded to avoid the truth of God in our Lord Jesus Christ. Be it at the elections office when I walk in with my tee shirt of scripture on. Or when I bring two ballpoint pens for the purpose of a write in that will resonate in that moment on that paper. As his truth does in all of creation every moment of every day.

JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! GOD BLESS AMERICA!

The testimony of the Christian of the love and truth of God in Christ is delivered in how we speak and how we interact with the Ekklesia and the people of this world.

Proverbs 21:1 The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will.

You missed the next verse, which is more detailed:

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

That's absolutely not about voting

how do you know it's not about voting?

Light is light, no matter what room it's in.

Do you think He was talking about a literal candlestick on a mountain top or something.

light is any time we do something Good, it reflects heaven.

There's the difference in doing what God says is good.
Not what mankind says.
What mankind exalts and lifts up and praises and does and promotes and pats one another on the back for,
God tosses in the trash.

Then you must build a case that voting is evil.

because as it sets the consensus is voting is a good thing we strive to do in general.

and when we dont' we feel guilty, like we did a misservice to society, which is like our own family.

That's what the (evil) world/ mankind says.

Since that's the case, from God's viewpoint, voting is participating in darkness, supporting darkness.
No light there.

again you can't just say, voting is evil and of the world.

you have to make a case that voting is not a good thing.

is doing jury duty a good thing or a bad thing?

Welcome to democracy. Where the people who you vote for may not win.
Seriously though, vote apathy is a severe problem. It's not going to get any better when you keep making excuses.

vote apathy,

interesting.

so you are saying voting is good, and not doing it is apathetic.

well there are about 2-3 in this thread that think voting is of the world, and not a good thing at all.

The news media nationwide a week or 2 ago, and all the politic advisors, ADMITTED the votes don't count -
they went
step by step through the process for everyone, and showed WHO PICKS THE WINNER. (sometimes ahead of time).

This has been known for a century. Nothing new. Nothing changed.

I did some jobs for a newpaper, they paid me well, but I didn't believe every thing they printed on paper, or on their website.

I recommend a separate source for you info.

news can be right, but the point is that we can't trust the hype of the news.

as it's self motivated to sell a story, not relay truth.

For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin. -- Romans 14.

yes that is true.

but what about not believing that God can use Voting for his sovereign will?

is not believing that....lack of faith, and therefore sin?

There is nothing metaphoric about "...so that they may see your good work...."

God uses Satan for his sovereign will.

So what point was it you were trying to make again?

That we should be believing in anything that God can use for His sovereign will?
