  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is it wrong to gather for worship on Sunday?

I see.
If you aren't going to defend your contentions against the Law, there is no reason to read your posts.

Don't side step my challenge to your belief system.

I know you must enjoy sexual relationships so why don't you go out and enjoy it with every available girl out there? Why abstain from things you enjoy? Are you under the law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Are you trying to be justified by your works?

Why are you appearing to encourage sin? You really believe merely not doing something is submission to it? I say that is incident to something. Paul said the Christians doesn't indulge in the lust of the flesh. That isn't the same as observing the law.

I had already cited Romans 3:8 for Maco, and his response was to return to his practice that Scripture condemns. We shouldn't have to elaborate further.

Do you lie, kill, rape, steal, worship other gods, use God's name in vain and so on? Why not? Are you under the Law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Or do you love God and see value in God's way of living?

Only those who have been born of God see value in living as God calls us to live.

1 John 2:29 If you know that He is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of Him.

But righteousness isn't practicing the law otherwise the Bible couldn't say no not one. Abraham and David sinned yet are called righteous. How? (hint Romans 4).

Honoring the fourth commandment is in itself an act of worship just like refusing to worship other gods, refusing to lie, steal, kill and so on.

I'm still waiting for your answer.

Worshipping on Saturday isn't dishonoring God and neither is Sunday.

I've answered you more than once on you accusation. You intend to show that everyone observes the law whether they want to or not. That is a false teaching. What you're doing is called manipulation and coercion. You're evangelizing the Christian which means your trying to convert them to something else. We're not subject to Judaism or the Old Covenant. You haven't and can't show any of the Ten Commandments being required of the Christian for salvation by anyone in the New Testament.

I really don't have to answer the never ending questions by people who don't want the truth when all they have to do is go back to my old replies and find the answers. Nor do I have to answer questions that contradict the word of God. I know the plan of God for His people. I know which law he writes on the heart and minds of his people. I know you must enjoy sexual relationships so why don't you go out and enjoy it with every available girl out there? Why abstain from things you enjoy? Are you under the law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Are you trying to be justified by your works?
Very true which is acknowledging you're not discussing or debating the issue. That leaves only evangelism as what your doing. This is forbidden by the rules.

The whole point of this thread and all the other similar ones are to make Christians feel bad for worshiping on Sunday or for not resting on Saturday. IT is plain and simple when you read all the comments of the main 3 trying to drive there Saturday point home.

But to Maco, Bob, and the other few. Say some Christians on did just say one day, lets try to keep the Sabbath, what next would they do?

-Would they have to leave their church because everyone in there worships on Sunday and doesnt rest on Saturday?

-What church would they even go to considering 95% of Christian churches meet on Sunday outside of SDA, Saturday Baptist, and Jewish/Hebrew Roots Movements?

-Would they have to now start worshiping on Saturday instead?

-They would no longer be able to make purchases on Saturday, including not going out to eat?

-Would they not be able to watch TV, play games, go on the internet, watch sports, so they can turn away from their own pleasure (Isaiah 58:13)?

Is this your goal and what you want to see on Saturday by Christians?? If not what is your mission, as I listed everything the bible listed to keep the Sabbath holy?

from scratch; Worshipping on Saturday isn't dishonoring God and neither is Sunday
Under the old covenant the people of God were stoned for dishonoring God by dishonoring the seventh day. It's not a dishonor to God to worship on Sunday or any other day but it is a dishonor to God to forget to keep the seventh day holy.

You have really answered nothing that challenges what you believe. Do you believe you know all there is to know about God's truth? Do you believe there are Christians out there who need to grow and understand more? Than why do you accuse me of evangelizing Christians by sharing truth?

Now here is the challenge that you can't answer.

I know you must enjoy sexual relationships so why don't you go out and enjoy it with every available girl out there? Why abstain from something you enjoy? Are you under the law? Are you trying to earn your salvation? Are you trying to be justified by your works? Well what is it? It has to be one of them because I can bet as a Christian you don't sleep around. There is another answer that I've been sharing with you on dozens of occasions but since you refuse the answer you must pick one that motivates your behavior to abstain from something you enjoy.

Really? Please explain how don't do this and don't do that is freedom under any ruler. Is the fence to restrain the dog or not? Lets talk primary intention here.

The principles revealed in the Ten Commandments are good, holy and right. They will always be good, holy and right. Every sin and crime committed in the world have their root in God's Law. The moment you violate one of the principles found in God's Law it proves you're a sinner. There is no way around it, you, me and the whole world are sinners. You could work hard to keep the Law but that would not change the fact that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. In Christ we are made clean. In Christ, God no longer sees you as a sinner, but rather, as a child of God but that does not mean the principles of God's Law change or are now done away with. It does mean that we no longer view ourselves as the Law views us, a sinner. If you draw your value from how well you keep the Law you will be in bondage because who can keep the Law good enough to stand before a holy God? No one. A person in Christ no longer views the Law as a means to obtain right standing with God, a person in Christ views the Law as a means to express godly love towards God and man. It's still a sin to commit adultery or even think of committing it but don't condemn yourself when you do, just lay it at the cross and move forward in developing a closer relationship with Jesus.
Soon you will find yourself struggling less and less to stop doing things that hurt our relationships.

View yourself as you wish. I choose to view myself as my change in status has changed from unregenerate to regenerate meaning from a rebel sinner to a righteous Christian. Please not I didn't say self righteous. The righteous I possess isn't my own - Phil 3:9.

He has gotten many answers from me yet I'm still waiting for answers to the questions that I presented that challenge both you and his belief system. But I guess they will never come.

I don't think you have responded to SAAN's request, since his post comes very late in this thread with nothing contributed from you that responds to it. *EDIT: SAAN privately confirmed this to me; you haven't answered him.*

Your questions were identified as a fallacy that Romans 3:8 condemns, and you already know that we're not going to respond to divisive fallacies. My first post points out how you mixed key nouns regarding the sabbath and God's rest, and that first post has never received any consideration.
