How convenient it is for the mormons to call such things attacks when they are in fact not. The above post was right. Sometimes, you have to be in your face to get something across. You want to call it attacking? Go ahead but please dont talk about "authority" as that is just another buzz word for the mormons who think they have the only "divine authority" to do anything in Jesus' name. My auhority to speak in Jesus' name comes from His commision to spread the TRUE GOSPEL that He preached. It is not the one you are perpetrating and the one you spread is losing souls to the evil one. I cannot sit idly back and watch that happen.

All believers are called to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints. The Mormons are attacking Christianity full-force, and some of us Christians are not willing to let you have a one-sided attack. We are here, and we are ready to do battle.

We are a royal priesthood having full authority from God.

Although I agree, sometimes you need to become all to win a few. No I don't mean become LDS, but I believe truth without love is a banging noise. And I'm also not one to back down, but for the sake of one person, I'll learn to be graceful. I think wisdom is knowing when to do which...granted that's wisdom I'd like.

I cannot believe Satan has corrupted so many, We as Latter-Day Saints are the only true church. We have the Restored Gospel, a Modern-Day Prophet, the Keys to the Aaronic and Melchizadec(spelled wrong...I think) Priesthood, Temple Ordinances, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins, and laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. Let's not forget the Plan of Salvation and so many great works by Modern Prophets and Apostles. Be careful on what you claim to be, and who you fight for, because even though you believe in Christ you have not accepted all of his truths. That is what Satan wants, he'll give you 99 truths and 1 BIG LIE. Ready to do battle huh? How aggressive the Blind, even when they cannot see.

The missionaries with whom I met also call themselves "Elder." Are you a missionary? And they say similar things to that which you write.

I was in the Missionary Training Center for 2 weeks(which means I have one week left). However, for medical reasons, I was sent home so that I could get things straightened out. So yes I am a missionary in the sense that I will be back in the field in about 2 or 3 months. By the way, I think it's awesome that you are so interested, only God's chosen seed will hear the word and heed it. I have a very good feeling about you Duende, you have a strong spirit. How old are you bro.? Just curious, you sound very dedicated to Christ. I just have one question, if you do believe in Christ, and our Heavenly Father brought forth the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ to give his children the opportunity to return to him and have eternal life, would you follow his promptings? Don't "Think" about it, thinking is carnal...pondering is spiritual. Pray about it.

You are as tenenacious as the missionaries with whom I meet as well. I am 27.

Sure sign of a cult. Don't think about it, just follow. God gave us brains, but LDS want us to put our brains on a shelf and follow anything they teach even though it contradicts God's word which He revealed to us in the Bible.

Mormons lure people with their charms just as prostitutes do.

The Bible says to beware of false teachers. I know that you know that, Duendo! Read your Bible and may God bless your reading of it.

Acts 17
10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

Oh, I once was blind, but now I see! Praise to my Almighty Triune God for granting me eternal life.

GodsWordisTrue,

Why do you have to say these things?

Here is elderbell comments:

Don't "Think" about it, thinking is carnal...pondering is spiritual. Pray about it.
Where did he ask to blindly follow?

If you understood better what pondering was I don't think you would've made those comments.

I apologize. Ponder what? False teachings? How about meditating on God's word, the Bible?

Psalm 119
11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Pondering is a form of prayer. A time of deep reflection again again on a particular topic. Since this is in a spiritual context, the topics are spiritual.

Pondering the word of God is a great place to do this.

As far as your "understanding" of my faith and its apprarent false teachings, I think you views are skewed only because you want them to be.

I have never said my church was pefect, but ask any LDS in this forum to agree with you charicature of the LDS church and you'll be aking all day long because the picutre you paint is NOT reality.

The picture I paint is reality! I was in the LDS organization for over twelve years. I have experienced it first hand. The LDS church reminds me of the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. There's the picture you want the world to see and then there's the other side. It's heartbreaking that so many are deceived into accepting a counterfeit Jesus. When I got on my knees and asked the real God of the Universe to guide me, He did---right out of the LDS church.

Now nothing can separate me from the love of God that is in Jesus, and Jesus wants people who are searching to come to Him, not an LDS prophet.

Matthew 11
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

It isn't about a church; it's about the Savior. Jesus saves, not someone's church.

Are you saying I'm intentionally mis-representing my church or trying to hide certain aspects of it?

Tom, I don't know that you are personally. But I will say that I'm very familiar with the LDS doublespeak: the half-truths, the genuine thinking that you're feeding milk to babes and saving the hard stuff for later when the member is entrenched in the LDS faith. Thank God, many don't swallow the unworthiness line you feed them and they go to the real God seeking truth from Him instead of men. There are so many ex-Mormons out here---it's wonderful that we've all been set free!

Can you show me an example of this "LDS doublespeak" that I'm guilty of?

:sigh: You know, before reaching these CFs, I couldn't understand the fight between protestants and catholics, two branchs of the same Christianity, in Ireland. After reading some threads about Mormonism and JW... I think now I understand. A pity, a pity, but now I am beggining to understand.

Would be too much to ask for both sides to chill out a little, and try to find things that bring us together, and not set us apart?

When I said don't "Think", I meant don't travel down the same road of process that procures lurid fantasies and all the human emotions of the flesh that Satan has the opportunity to use against us in our greatest time of need. We are Spirits have a human experience not the other way around. A spiritual request, and a spiritual pursuit do not bear carnal fruit. I'm not saying don't cultivate your mind, but do it in the garden of rightousness, so that your mind and spirit feed off of one another and are not so easily subject to the lingering of Satan. What's sad about most of you is that you ACTUALLY believe what you are saying. 12 years, I've been one for 20....even the prophet of our church is still learning. Time does not dictate your understanding of the principles of the Restored Gospel. I just pray that you haven't been to the temple, because if you have, then in your present state you have turned your back on the holyest of covenants. How sad.

I have been to the temple and find all of the goings on there to be nothing more then rediculous. The acting is poor and the meaning is vacant. I know that I am saved and that I will not have to give some masonic handshake when I get there. I also have no need for a distorted story of what happened during creation and in the garden. It is all blasphemy that mocks the very word of God. I am more then glad that I took off the underwear and put on the Armor of God through God the Son and His finished work on the cross. For you to refer to some "restored" gospel makes it clear that your jesus would have to be impotent and weak. The Jesus I worship is all powerful and had no need for a necromancing boy in new york to "restore" what He kept perfect all along.
