  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

  • Removed all products containing chametz
  • Cleaned all utensils that may contain chametz or removed them
  • Cleaned all rooms of any crumbs of chametz
  • Eaten last bites of chametz this morning ( No fasting of the firstborn in our household
  • Shopped yesterday and bought all Kosher foods for passover, including some white grape Matzah ( already had some wines on hand) and got my free Empire Turkey ;) ), wishing I could find the chocolate covered matzah but it is no where to be found in any of my stores.:sigh:
  • Have gathered last crumbs to burn later this morning
  • Have sold any remaining chametz or overlooked chametz to Rabbi
  • Preparing to leave early for Synogogue to ready for congregational seder.
  • AM burning out the oven as I type ( and I can smell it in here, better make sure a fire doesn' start, mine goes up to 525 degrees!)
Whew! Am I forgetting anything?

So are all you ready? We just have to do a final running of the vacumn as we hosted a birthday party here last night for one of our friends whose Birthday was Shabbat but we all were at a wedding.

Are you all ready for gallons of Matzah ball soup?

OH P4I that is SO NOT FAIR!!!!

Think of TL and me, and our children, and include us in your hearts as you observe tonight. We be alllll alone and lonely and have to observe by ourselves. VERY low key for us this year as we have a number of children with the sickies :( And they won't even make it through the Haggadah I'm sure. Ah well. Next year in Yerushalayim!

:)

amen to that! so how was it?

PS. I was hoping to hear from the other ladies about their preparations, as I am new to all this in the last few years, never having a Jewish momma to teach me. :(
Zayit, you had it covered as far as I could tell. I was too busy and my ISP was down again during the days of preparation - so I just now saw this thread when you bumped it ;)

It was wonderful !!! LOL

I used to do this in my home for 20 or more ppl - and I can tell you there is not that much difference in 2 or 20 - LOL

Bed feels soooo good after singing about Eliyahu!! Our seder was only about 3 hours from candle lighting to shouting Yerushalyim!!

It was a major miracle that everyone arrived on time - we had folks from 25, 60, 100 and 150 miles away!! We had a spectrum from folks who have had seder since childhood, and folks who teach the Seder to folks who had never been to one and folks who had never heard of one; we had Jewish folks who do not know Messiah and Jews who do, we had gentiles who do not know Messiah and gentiles that do - we all had a grand time !!

What a joy it was to have all these people share the Story with us in our home!!

Studied the Bible for the meaning of all this, never experienced any of it. Sounds like a spiritual feast, with friends and family. May you been blessed with the joy of knowing both the Torah and the Messiah in your celebration.
Maybe you can hook up with a MJ family or community next year visionary?? So, sorry you missed out this year :(

Thanks for sharing that Henaynei, and Pray4Isral, I am hoping to have more preperation time next year and have my own. I did help out at the congregational one. I got to put the matzoh on each table and each seder plate, set the Rabbi's table ( candles, handwashing, etc) as well as I set up the greeting table. Then I stayed afterwards and helped to clean up, boy was I exhusted when I got home!

You know what's funny? You clean and clean and clean to get all the baked on crumbs, the ones out from your carpet, and sofa and bed (clears throat, just a little light snacking watching an installment of good eats:blush: ) and your clothing, every knook of your house and what happens on the 14th ?

You open a box of Matzah and all the crumbs are back again,

in force! :D

OY!

LOL - likely those are the crumbs you cleaned off your window sills, matzah crumbs from *last* year!! How do bread crumbs get on a window sill?? Have you ever tried to break a matzah?? The crumbs go flying!!! Bread crumbs don't do that !!!
