My thoughts exactly. We are certainly not called to be God, but to be His children (gods).

I have said, You are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Psalm 82:6
<< Deuteronomy 6:4 >>
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.

To be honest, it's hard talking to you sometimes, especially when you keep pulling the same verses out of context. Yes, I know that God alone is holy and apart from Him, we are nothing (John 15:4). However, the Lord commanded us to be holy as He is holy, to be holy in every aspect of our conduct. Holiness is the very character of God, and our heavenly Father wants His children to act and look like Him. We are called to be a holy nation (1 Peter 2:9), and the Lord is coming back a final time for a holy Church, "holy and immaculate, without stain or wrinkle or anything of that sort" (Eph 5:27). Without becoming holy, we cannot enter the Kingdom of the LORD (Heb 12:14). So, how does one become holy?
Well there are others here posting scriptures out of context, including you.. sounds like you need to read them in context... or look back at all the scriptures that have been post by different people in reference to your question.. including the ones you post... put it all together and if an argument presented creates a contradiction in either the premises or the biblical text, that argument must change. Once premises are established, they cannot contradict each other. You can start with … God alone is holy… any argument that contradicts that… must change…

Yes, the LORD alone is holy, but He has called us to be holy (for God is holy). The only reason you believe there are "contradictions", when there are actually none at all, is because you choose to take sides. I don't.

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit on the throne of his glory. Matthew 25:31

Are the Scriptures contradicting your position when they say angels are holy?

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just man and holy, and protected him; and when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly. Mark 6:20

Scriptures also refer to John the baptist as holy. Are they incorrect?

As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began. Luke 1:70

Scriptures also refer to the prophets of old as holy men. Are they also incorrect?

I see. Your argument is not with me, you should take it up with Jesus Christ.
I have no argument with Jesus Christ. I have an argument with people who claim that the flesh has no meaning - and therefore Jesus becoming flesh has no meaning.

I know there are no contradictions... not even one... the reason I believe that God alone is holy is because God's word say's God alone is holy.... we share in His holiness when we are disciplined by Him... it is the work of God and the Gift of God... it is HIS holiness... just as we have no righteousness of our own... it is HIS righteousness.... we can praise HIM for all this... for God alone is holy.

2 Corinthians 3:18
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

We seem to have changed direction again.

The verse in the Bible from Deuteronomy 6:4: "Hear, O Israel! Yahweh is our God, Yahweh is one [Echad]!"

The Hebrew word echad is used meaning unity of one and not the Hebrew word yachid meaning an absolute numeric one. Yachid is derived from echad being of the same root family however the meaning is different. Yachid is not used to describe God.

Echad is also the same word used in Genesis 2:24 "two shall become one…”
After the emergence of Christianity some Jewish scripts change the Hebrew word for "one" in Deuteronomy 6:4, from echad to yachid.
There is another Hebrew word “Bad” meaning solitary or oneness.
In the NT the Greek words are “Hen” unified oneness and “Monos” absolute oneness.

The concept of holiness in Hebrew words is also something that needs to be understood a little, before entering into detailed discussion on holiness, as equivalent English words do not capture the full extent of the Hebrew words.

As for your new question concerning angels, lets finish with the first question you asked.

Your question was “so how does one become holy” here are some premises that have been established per scripture:… Once premises are established, they cannot contradict each other. If an argument presented creates a contradiction in either the premises or the biblical text, that argument must change. Certainly this is not all the premises per scripture, but you can add any premises on the subject… as long as they are biblical. I could share my thoughts on this, but clearly you will reject anything I say… so I hope this helps you understand… pray about it and add more premises if you want… God bless.

without holiness no one will see the Lord

God alone is holy

we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all

Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood

by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy

Christ Jesus is, our holiness

God gives us Rules for Holy Living

sexual immorality, any kind of impurity, or of greed, are improper for God’s holy people.

God disciplines His children so that we may share in His holiness

God’s children are being transformed into his likeness, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

God chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight

what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Jesus appears, we shall be like him

I honestly don't know what you are trying to say in that above statement..

Anyway, the blood of Jesus Christ made all holy, but not everyone is holy. Why is that?

the way I understand Sonship in the ancient world…

To be the son of a god was to be god himself
You bowed to the king because he was your god
Kings demanded that people worship them
You could not receive worship unless you had the status of sonship with a god
You had to be a king and then you were considered the son of a god and received the right of the god himself.

First born was considered to be in a special status… the real son, the one I adore.

That’s why when Jesus said He was the Son of God… they accused Him of blasphemy… they knew He was claiming to be God Himself.

IN a polytheitic world, pharoahs, lords of the household, and the forces of nature were not worshipped out of a sense of love, but out of a respect for power, and what power might be able to do for you. There was no moral sense of duty, for love was not a factor, unless a Creator God created us out of love.
But in a moral universe under the law of love, what, other than sin, separates us from God?
