Abe obeyed Gods will, whatever God said Abraham did. Again Jesus brought Grace and truth. Can we teach the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.” Genesis 26:4-5
Just saying.
God’s word does not end there… read on, Jesus did something that the scoffers will never believe… He died for our sins...
And he did things God did not tell him to do... like lie about Sarah being his wife, not once but twice and sleeping with his servant girl to ensure God would follow through on His promise to provide a son. He wasn't perfect, but He was saved by faith... just like the rest of us.
I do not mean to sound rude, but Jesus Christ was speaking about the FUTURE in the book of Matthew; the day of judgement to be exact. Nothing's changed. Don't take my word for, only take His word- This is what Jesus Christ said to John after ascending to heaven:
And to the angel of the church in Sardis write,
These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Revelation 3:1-6
what were they? list em..
and when did he receive the gospel, and when was he rightoeusness? hint..12;3, and gen 15;6. All before the law.
again, does that passage say he was justified by laws?
hehehehehe
besides, no mention of that by paul who used abe as the man of faith, used to ward off law righteousnees, so all of the Pauline usgae of Abe, goes against your implication here.

Acts 13:40-42
40 Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you:
41 “‘Look, you scoffers,
wonder and perish,
for I am going to do something in your days
that you would never believe,
even if someone told you.”
Romans 4:4-8
4 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. 5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:
7 “Blessed are they
whose transgressions are forgiven,
whose sins are covered.
8 Blessed is the man
whose sin the Lord will never count against him.”
his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.
If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; HE HIMSELF WILL BE SAVED, but only as one escaping through the flames. 1 Corinthians 3 13-15

So Jesus dieing on the cross changed nothing? that's not what the word say's...I do not mean to sound rude, but Jesus Christ was speaking about the FUTURE in the book of Matthew; the day of judgement to be exact. Nothing's changed. Don't take my word for it, only take His word-

You can lead a horse in the dessert to water, but you cannot make them drink
Thank you B 74 for the encouraging scriptures however, Im not sure what your point is we have already agreed that we are not saved by works. And we have already agreed that it is wise for Gods children to obey our Father good scriptures though. That shows that no man is good, no not one. But may Gods will be done on earth as in heaven. That's the truth.
Gods Will and The Truth:
Mt 7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them. 8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: 9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) 10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. 12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. 13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. 14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. 15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, 16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. 18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; 20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; 21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
Well, i must go now. Im getting depressed.

the bible say's it is not good.... in fact, though we will be saved, we will suffer lose of rewards... that may not seem important right now, but it will be very sad when we get to heaven and see what we could have had... I'm sure God's rewards are awesome...You keep quoting that verse. Do you think its a good thing that a mans work be burned up? That work that burns up are men's souls. Why would we want to escape it and let the work burn?

and can you explain why this wicked man was credited with righteouness or how this man with no works made it into heaven?
