Is $450,000 enough for each illegal immigrant separated from family?

You characterize a legal case holding government accountable for intentionally separating children from their parents as a frivolous lawsuit?
Yes, every time an adult is arrested the children are INTENTIONALLY not thrown into an adult prison. The children are prevented from entering the prison. As you know, Obama/Biden put children in cages, Trump saw the practice ended, and the Biden/Harris administration reinstated cages for kids Joe tried to keep the story hidden but photos were eventually taken. It is perfectly acceptable to keep kids out of adult prisons, packing them into cages and denying access to child protection workers is a real crime.

I thought they were going just for the Trump years in order to falsely vilify him and not give compensation to those under Obama/Biden. I could be wrong, what are the years?

It's not my job to search for information for you to present an argument. If you don't know much about the matter in question then may I politely suggest that you do some investigation and then come back with a response.

I'm not sure what you're asking me for....

Do you want me to call you up and read the article to you?

Maybe you want me to read through everything to which you linked, pull out all the points that I think you might consider to be relevant, fit them into a narrative that will form the basis of an argument that you might make and then argue against that? Well, that ain't going to happen...

A linked article is not an argument. You need to make the argument yourself and then you can link to whatever you consider contains evidence that might support the point you are trying to make.

What do you think? The Wall Street Journal says the Biden administration is considering $450,000 each. What about victims, those raped, children who have been trafficked, those who have died from drugs due to border policies?
WSJ News Exclusive | U.S. in Talks to Pay Hundreds of Millions to Families Separated at Border

If it's not enough for a particular individual, they could just cross the border a second or third time after being deported and then they could double or triple their income. It would be some stiff competition versus the drug and human traffickers as to which illegal activity is most profitable. The coyotes would probably want a percentage though.

In all of the reporting I have not found any years outside of the Trump years. We'll go with that if and until we learn otherwise.

This is really aggravating to read. My friend an electronic & electrical engineer that works in the US have to yearly justify his and his family's reason to be allowed to continue living in the US. The government keep asking his company why he is needed and if he can be replaced by an American.

He is highly qualified and have worked in the Malaysian branch of the company for years before applying to be relocated to the US. He uprooted his family to seek a better life in the US. He pays taxes and the children attends US schools. Fluent in English.

Here you have unskilled and illegals coming in and being welcomed with money that my friend might not be able to earned his entire lifetime. What kind of logic is this?

He's still on a work visa?

It's vote logic--pay enough to illegals and they will vote for Democrats. It's a complete lack of compassion for people, those who disrespect the laws of our country get special privileges, those who obey the law lose out. And it doesn't seem to matter how many women and children are sexually abused, how many of our children die of drug overdoses because of the drugs pouring in through our open southern border. What an evil thing.

This is sad. My friend have to fight to be allowed to stay while your government welcome people who are less qualified than him. My friend has to jump through hoops while I read the illegals immigrant being rolled out the red carpet lined with USD.

That makes sense, the US government would never give that much.

What I had heard originally was 450k per person.

While thousands of American citizens are living on the sidewalk in tents.

From the article:
(CNN)President Joe Biden said Wednesday that families separated at the border under the Trump administration's so-called zero-tolerance policy will not receive payments of $450,000, but he did not go into detail about any possible monetary settlements for them.

Further down in the article:
A source familiar with the matter told CNN last week that migrant families who were forcibly separated at the US-Mexico border under the policy could receive hundreds of thousands dollars in compensation as part of settlement negotiations between the Justice Department and the families' lawyers.

More than 3,000 children were separated from their families at the US-Mexico border under former President Donald Trump. It's unclear how many people would be eligible for payments.

Negotiations are ongoing and it's unknown what the final figure will be, the source familiar with the matter told CNN at the time, noting that different numbers have been discussed at various times. Financial compensation would likely vary and not all would get the maximum agreed-upon amount.

I'm not sure why you are highlighting those particular sentences. This has all been covered already. It's going to court. Nobody knows what any dollar amount is going to be. People can make as many guesses as they want but it will be either up to the court to decide OR is will be a negotiated settlement on an individual basis between the plaintiff and the defendent.

Biden likewise has no idea what a court might award. But he's making it plain that amounts close to a half a million will not be on the table should it come to negotiating a settlement.

I'm puzzled by those who are trying to use this in some way against the current administration. It's decisions made by the last admin that caused this problem. Biden is likely going to be stuck with compensating people for what Trump did. How in heaven's name can be get the blame for it?

It goes with what's perceived as a propensity democrats seem to have towards rewarding people who enter the country illegally.

There's no problem, that's why people are outraged. When an adult parent is arrested it is cruel and inhumane to place the children in an adult prison. Add to the fact that in these cases adults risked the welfare of their children by bring them through so many miles of cartel controlled areas with the intention to break the laws of our country. The same thing is happening under the Biden regime with U.S. citizens, when an adult is arrested the child is separated--not thrown into an adult prison!! The idea that criminals should be paid rather than victims has been pushed by some Democrats this year, paying criminals not to commit crimes. Likewise Kamala had contributed to funds to bail out some hard left extremists who commit arson and acts of violence.

Because it was the last admin that was attempting to keep illegals out, and it's the current one that's giving them incentive to come in, including huge cash payments for ones that were kept out during the last admin.
