I don't disagree. But your humanitarian responsibilities, your geographic position and the politicisation of the situation has left you with quite the problem. Europe is suffering with the same problem and I think it's obvious that there is no easy solution. Those who are jumping up and down yelling about the perceived largesse of the government in this specific case (prompted by problems caused by the previous administration) doesn't help. It just adds fuel to a fire that's already going to be difficult enough to put out.

Why does the situation have to be identical? The fact is that in virtually all circumstances and situations when adults are incarcerated, their children are separated from them. Can you name any other circumstance or situation in any country where children share a cell with their parents?

If you don't appreciate the difference between them and the incarceration of normal fellons with children then nothing I'm going to say is going to make any difference.

Commission of a felony is not the only reason why people are incarcerated. However the reason why children are separated from their incarcerated parents is for the same reason, no matter what the incarceration is due to. What you seem to be saying is that in this case children were separated from their incarcerated parents for some entirely different reason.
