can someone give me a verse supporting wesley's idea of intire sanctification?
There is no such verse, just as there is no verse supporting the fact that the New Birth is an instantaneously arrived at experience/miracle.
The Truths of God were not intended by God to be obtained by just one source, such as the written Word. God's Truths are to be established in us by two or three or more "witnesses." The written Word is one such possible witness. A spiritual experience can be a witness. "His Spirit bearing witness with [our] spirit" (para.) can be another witness. Etc.
So, for example, those of us who are Evangelical & charismatic Christians, are such because we had an experience in our life, when we were instantantly, supernaturally born-again and made a child of God. But try to prove that to someone in a mainline denomination. You cannot. You cannot prove it from the Bible, neither by any tangible source.
And this is how it was intended to be. See John 2:23-25. God will not commit Himself to tangiblenesses (wd? - doubt it).
So for some of us, at some time after we were born-again, we also can give testimony of the day when we also instantly and miraculously received the supernatural fullness of God's Love. And such cannot be
disproven by the written Word.
But it should not seem a strange thing even in light of the Word. After all, it is not our love but God's Love which has been made manifest, and why would God need to gradually manifest Himself and/or gradually grow? God is already complete and perfect within Himself, so it's only "natural" that when He gives us His Love, He do so in all its fullness (although this does not, of course, make the recipient themselves perfect--it is the Love that is perfect).
Also, God is not a liar and hypocrite like all of us; God would never command people to do something unless He also provided a way for them to do it. So when God says we MUST Love, He will of course have ready the Graces of Love needed to obey. Just ask God, in Jesus' Name, and do not doubt.
". . . the MANIFOLD Graces of God."
