CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nicely put together, Good for a story, as long as you don't take it seriously. The problem is when people become obsessive, and act like it is all real...just silly nonsense. And LOTR got big, like Star Wars is...

My favorite season of the year! It is when I get a nice return to push me along, or take a trip back home and see the family. (I know, I know, I must be crazy!)

I think that keeping an exotic pet is a selfish (and cruel) thing to do.
The exorbitant price of mani/pedi's? (I want to go get my nails done (because I'm tired of looking like a "dead mommy") , but I just can't reconcile something so temporary costing so *&@$ much! )

I took my daughter & her friend to get french nails for her birthday one year........man! I hardly had money left for the cake & pizza. And she was taking them off less than two weeks later. And Pewwww! that glue they use stinks right out into the hallway, I'd wear a gas mask if I worked there.

I think that civilazation has made hunting antiquated and unnecessary. And I find the practice (and generally the people a who practice it), repugnant.

Milk is a good source of calcium, which builds strong bones and muscles. My family drinks milk. 2%.
But, I hated milk when I was growing up, because the only milk my mother served, was the non-fat, powdered kind, and she never seemed to blend it enough to get all the lumps out. It actually wasn't until my Grandmother gave me whole milk, that I realized it wasn't milk that I hated, but powdered milk.

The Republican party is but a different side of the same coin as the Democratic party. Both parties use "values" issues to gather support,but in most cases their main concern is in gaining power and hanging on to it. Most politicians are soon corrupted,whatever their intentions may have been in the beginning. These things are,in my opinion,equally true of both parties. The Republican party seems just a touch more hypocritical in their pandering to people concerned with "family values". If I said that Republicans like their guns and don't like gay people,I'd be guilty of the same simplistic hyperbole which would suggest that Democrats are babykillers...and I wouldn't want to do that Peace to all..

I'd prefer that the time, energy and passion poured into protecting animals be poured into protecting unborn babies and the poor, lonely and ill.

Alternative fuel researches are in abundance already, but, IMO, we keep using gas for economic reasons. They may put some hybrid eco-car out there on TV, but I don't see it hitting the masses any time soon before the Earth dries up from overexertion.
