  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello. I'm Jthree. I guess I have a few questions and was wondering if some on this forum might give me some direction on where to look for some answers and definitions. First off, could someone tell me where are some sites to get some information on "spiritual oppression?" I've heard it used by different people for pretty much different purposes.

Somebody who might be under conviction might say that a teacher laid a guilt trip on them and they are "spiritually oppressed." Others might say the exact opposite. Christianity is supposed to "set us free," and yet there are things going on that make me wonder.

Anyway, can anyone tell me where I can check information on "spiritual oppression?"

Hi; good to see you; God bless His Word to you. Colossians is all about the preeminence of the Lord Jesus in Whom dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. Vague appeals to, and fears about, spirituality are contrasted in how the Lord Jesus is revealed in Colossians.

Welcome to CF. Glad you could join us. If you need help with something, let me know.

I hope you enjoy your time and find what you are looking for here. I don't have a good answer to your question, but if you ask in Christian Advice or a similar section, you will probably get some help with that.

:bye:

Read it. Thank you. It does mean a great deal, but to the people I'm discussing it with; it doesn't mean enough. I'll elaborate further later.
