  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi people.

I lived in Manila from 1968-1972

First in Magallanes Village and then in Parañaque (just off Quirino Avenue)

I went to school at what was then the American School in Bel-Air and then to Colegio de San Agustin in Dasmariñas.

I have many happy memories from those days which I'm happy to share:

In these days we used to say Makati, Rizal. It was a Makati of the Quad, the Rizal Theatre, Coronado Lanes, Sulo Restaurant, Automart, Rustans, etc.

We drank Royal Tru-Orange and Lemo-Lime and watched Uncle Bob's Lucky Seven Club on Channel Seven.

Ah, so many memories....

A few questions, for those in the Philippines, if I may?

Why do those in the Philippines every year at 'easter', go through an entire crucifixion, actually nailing a guy to a cross, with a train of people whipping and flogging themselves into bloody pulps, masking themselves?

Where does Christ Jesus, God, command such a thing to be done, or endorse such a thing in Scripture?

Do you not know it is an abomination in His sight, and that he cares most preciously for the minds and bodies of those people? [I seriously ask.]
