I'm only asking if what I'm gathering from your statement is correct? Am I understanding correctly that the Holy Spirit is perfectly OK with you watching/reading Harry Potter books and movies, because you are strong in that area but possibly He might forbid someone else from watching/reading them because they are weak?......its just a simple question. I'm just asking what the Holy Spirit has said to your heart about this matter
This post is asking, specifically:
So basically your saying that the Holy Spirit whom you know is not against the Harry Potter series, for you, he might be for someone else, is this what your saying?
And it is asking this immediately before this post, which says- quote:
Is it what he hears the Holy Spirit say?......I find it strange that the Holy Spirit who is and was behind all scripture ever written has suddenly a change of heart on certain matters, that just strikes me as being very odd!
Emphasis added for relevance.
Now this post states that it was an innocent question- If it is, and I have my doubts, then I certainly apologize for being abrupt. However, I find the general attitude of the post to be in question, especially in light of the comment to GW.
Yes- I believe the Holy Spirit will tell me to do and say and live a certain way which may very well be different from your own life.
Now- the next post then say this:
please tell everyone where someone has demanded you do anything? you can watch all the Harry Potter, twilight, vampire, werewolf, psycho slasher movies, all you want, nobody on this thread has demanded you do anything, just a few of us are wondering how witchcraft and sorcery, whether real or fake, has any place in the life of a Christian.
First, let me say that we're all "telling everyone" with every post, so that was unnecessary.
Secondly, if one read even five pages of this thread, one would pick up on the judgmental tone of the large majority of the posts therein. Has anyone demanded people live according to X, Y, and Z? No. However, there have been insinuations, which are against the rules of this forum I might add, that people are not "true Christians" if they don't agree. Is it outright demanding? No, but it is hardly neutral.
That post provided an excellent jumping off point for that issue, and if you, the poster, feel I was addressing you personally, despite my explicitly stating "some Christians," then I apologize.
It was directed at whomever the shoe fits. I'm trying very hard
NOT to treat others as they do me, E.G.:
Is it what he hears the Holy Spirit say?
"He" = RETS Meaning it was addressing a specific member personally. It was not directly addressing me, but an indirect reference is nearly as bad. Think of it as stabbing someone in the back while they watch in a mirror....
